Xbox Acquisition |OT7| Come on down for your chance to win on “Who will Xbox buy next?!”

Exactly, totally in agreement here. Crytek has shown amazing prowess in tech wizardry. As you said they weren’t afraid to take the risk of pushing visuals to the max. I recall Crysis was probably the first game to be compared to real life and Ryse even though being originally a Kinect game was the best-looking thing at launch. I think under Microsoft they could explore their full potential and produce another level of visuals that might not rely on Nanites.

I definitely remember trying to run the first Far Cry and getting like 1 frame per second or so when it wasn’t completely frozen. I did build a new computer shortly after that.

I just hope Microsoft can get Crystal and Eidos. I am unsure who else I would want Microsoft to get from what they’ve acquired, but I Feel those 2 studios mentioned are the main prize.

Hopefully they do consider selling or letting studios buy themselves in some cases like IO Interactive did. Can you imagine if they’d just been closed instead? No Hitman 2/3, no project 007 or project dragon…

100% CD and Eidos would be amazing I just hope ABK doesn’t mess it up again!

The only other Embracer studios which really interest me are 4A and Gearbox but nowhere on the same level.

Gear box is a publisher under Embracer also I think Xbox had a chance to get it but let it go because of Randy Pitchford, so I don’t see them going after Gearbox 4A is definitely a good one and one they’ve had a good history with. I always thought they let it go, because of the Ukraine and Russia clash. There will be a lot of publishers clamoring to get a piece of Embracer so it will be tough from Son y Tencent to the rest.

King David suggested a while back that MS would acquire CD & Eidos from Embracer and still seems to be leaning that way:

Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal should definitely be ones Microsoft should look into. Other than that anything else would be a cherry on top.

Let’s hope Phil Spencer can bring Crystal Dynamics home

I forgot that Embracer also own Free Radical Design (Timesplitters) which has some of the original GoldenEye guys.

It’s rather crazy that everyone is working on making up the cost of the purchase yet when you look at Microsoft, they’re almost done if not done already. Their price is so damn high in compare, so could you imagine if Sony was the one making the purchase instead. They’ll be paying for a long time like adult still paying university loan.

Microsoft already made up the money in the 20 months since the deal was announced. As for return, Microsoft and ABK expect King to triple in revenue in the next 5 years. To go from a $5 B revenue to $15B by 2028.

I would think that any individual studios Microsoft acquires would just be under Xbox Game Studios. I want Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, 4A Games, Dambuster Studio and Gunfire Games.

Gunfire Games is a good shout! I have said before that Darksiders just needs a bigger budget. With a reboot it could even could become a God of War level competitor.

‘War’ is arguably a more interesting character than Kratos too.

I never played Darksiders 2 but I loved the original and Darksiders 3. Plus, Gunfire Games just released Remnant 2 which is great as is the first game so they would be a good addition along with those two IP’s. I really want Darksiders 4 with Strife as the lead protagonist.
