Before Ms buys anyone else…might need to put some games out first…
Yeah, I think we should start looking at efficiency for the next target. I feel big publishers isn’t always the answer and sometimes you’re better off getting an efficient independent studio like lets say Insomniac for example.
They have that studio - Obsidian.
Only playground has given them an exclusive developed completely post acquisition
RARE says hello with Grabbed by the Ghoulies from 2003 or Perfect Dark Zero from 2005 or Kameo: Elements of Power from 2005 or Viva Piñata from 2006.
They go from perfect dark and conker to grabbed by the ghoulies…wow
Not going that far
Since 2018’s rebuilding of xbox I meant
MS may also want to secure that deal going forward though an acquisition. This would prevent for example EA Play leaving GP to join PS Plus (which would be a huge gut punch).
Obsidian should be that studio for MS but it is still a shame that ‘old’ Xbox let Insomniac go, especially for so cheap (I appreciate they had better history with PS).
At around 1:55:00 jeff grub says that Microsoft is not interested in buying EA. So we can cross that one off the list.
He said that Microsoft just don’t want to be involved due to ABK and that makes sense.
I don’t believe that Microsoft would buy EA in any case though.
No insider knows anything about who MS will buy next. If anything Grubb saying MS are not interested tells me it’s likely to happen lol.
Yea intent to acquire. EA have assets, IP, studios and tech that’s very valuable. On par with ABK. It’s all played by millions on every ecosystem, and MS have tried before to buy them.
Isn’t it confirmed that Microsoft have tried to buy EA twice before (I believe Ed Fries confirmed this recently, in addition to trying to buy Blizzard years ago).
I’m sure they would still be interested they just can’t with ABK going through.
Apex Legends, nearly every racing studio, mobile and all their sports games would be huge.
Knowing all your prediction we can be sure that EA will be acquired but not by Microsoft
Not even close.
That’s a possibility lol. I think EA will hold out for MS though.
I think EA will either go to Amazon (I still wonder if Amazon is into gaming or not because they don’t do moves) or to some media giant.
Why exactly would EA do this instead of taking the best deal for its stockholders?
Why would MS buy either of those to according to you MS doesnt like working with licenses which both have alot of sports ones
I was randomly listening to an old Xbox Two episode around when they acquired Bethesda and Jez was being worried about Blizzard maybe being acquired by someone else and making them exclusive lol. They were also talking about whether Microsoft was going for EA and Activision next or if those big publishers were relastic at all. Really interesting listening to that stuff now
