If they were going to go for another big boi, “IFFF”, there target would be Ubisoft. There publisher acquisitions have been all about non licensed IP.

He means: it’s not enough that Microsoft or Sony want to buy these studios … you also need the studios to want to sell.
And now we have the perfect time for the two to come together: companies want to buy, and studios are open to sell = Tango (acquisitions)

Both Bungie and BioWare are my dream acquisitions. Since EA has BioWare and Sony acquiring Bungie. Do you know who can be next Bungie and next BioWare?
I think Certain Affinity and Larian studios has the potential.
Sure, but in a bidding war, Sony chances are pretty low.

I know this is Xboxera, but as a gamer I only see good things coming when both Microsoft and Sony acquire more game studios.
It leads to more job opportunities for people that work in the industry and it also means you’ll have different experiences on your game consoles too.
So I for one see competition as only a benefit for us gamers and when Sony buys Bungie or Microsoft buys Activision Blizzard I think this is only for the best.
Plus you know there will be some people that leave and they will start up their own companies, so tgat leads to even more new games too.
Plus with everything going on in the world right now, for the employees this is job security too.
So we all should be happy, that people will have more opportunities in their jobs, plus this opens doors for people that wanted to work at these companies too.

It will be interesting to see what happens and if there will be any compromises that have to happen, so this acquisition can happen.
Sony getting SE would put MS in a tricky situation regards to Crystal Dynamics and Perfect Dark. Makes think the Eidos side has to be a priority for Xbox.

tbh it’s not a big deal if they lose CD, aren’t they just helping with game and all creative decision, game design and story from The initiative ?
I expect these studios would be gone by 2024,

That was right before Bungie was acquired. Afterwards, it dropped.
Crytek and Techland seems prime objectives for Tencent, IOI should be a MS one.

To be honest the game will likely be completed by the time anything could close
I wouldn’t be surprised if Sony acquires Crytek to strengthen their FPS live service games.
Crytek doesn’t make a good game since a decade ago, it would be a jump in the void for Sony.

Asobo can become most successful studio of Xbox if Xbox acquires them.
Maybe some people think that Crytek owns the Roman Empire 
.
