From the linked article:

Not everything is final when it comes to this lawsuit, however. The document concluded that the group of investors can file another complaint addressing the issues highlighted in the dismissal, within 30 days. So, the group can still have some ground to maneuver so long as they meet the demands of the US District Court.

Seems like some sort of progress though in a way though. No?

Yeah. Just saying don’t be surprised to see followup complaints and for those to make the news cycle. I’m sure some disingenuous places may do articles acting all surprised when it comes back around or treats them as something entirely new.

Yup. There’s always someone who complains. Lol pain :phil_lmao:

they can’t sue again till after the vote to approve the purchase so it seems kind of moot on their part.

I think IO Interactive, Supermassive, Platinum and Larian feel like they’d fit in under Zenimax.

Behavoir Interactive and IOI definitely seem like the most natural fits to me. Adding another Japanese company to pair with Tango would be interesting, I’m down for that.

Larian won’t ever happen with their Russian office in St Petersburg.

You’re right Larian definitely won’t happen, because of their Russian studio, unless they stop working with them.

I was the other day on another site that said Saber Interactive stopped working with their Russian studio, so if Larian was to do something like that, then it could be possible.

Ubisoft saw a double digit %age rise today amid buyout spec (from private equity houses not gaming companies). Early stage stuff and no guarantee it will lead to any bids.

I’m guessing this is linked?

Yes. Buyout spec of some sort had been rumoured for much of the day after the stock moved significantly higher without any solid news at the time of the move. This sounds like these companies are taking preliminary looks rather than any form of progressed talks.

So there’s companies who would be interested in buying out Ubisoft, but I wonder if this reflects interest by Ubisoft in being bought out. They did aggressively fight off a hostile takeover not long ago but they’re also in a similar position to Activision and Yves may be looking for his own golden parachute about now. Either way, if they do get acquired I would hope it’s not by some random finance firm. I can’t imagine a particularly positive outcome of that unless it’s someone akin to Tencent and Embracer who just leaves them alone to work.

@Phil get ittttt

Actually it would make sense to Sony to acquire Ubi since they make similar games kekeke but I need my Assassin’s Creed on Xbox!

Another water company that decided to become a media empire?

The fought it off when they were nice and dandy. Now they have all the chance to become 2b company by the end of the year.

Sony might be able to afford them soon. But the problem with Ubisoft remains the same - internal issues and sheer size.

Sony wouldn’t really want to take on 20,000 employees (2 ABK’s), especially when their profit margin is so low and they are going through numerous allegations.

I don’t think Microsoft has time for it, I can imagine these private investors buying it and possibly selling it years down the road, this is what happened to some big studios like Blizzard and From Software.
