Xbox Acquisition |OT5| Talking Exclusively About Xbox Acquisitions

Capcom… First thing would be to bring Darkstalkers back, IT’S TIME CAPCOM, DO IT. After that I would sell because I can smell the Darkstalkers flop seeing how capcom fighting games have been in the last few years :sob:

they own 96% of SNK now

Yes. They own them.

I got Square Enix. I’d continue to accept Sony moneyhats and drop my Western flops onto Game Pass.

Jokes aside, I’d (1) immediately port FF14 and FF7 Remake to Xbox, (2) fund reboots or remakes of Parasite Eve and Deus Ex, (3) acquire Platinum Games, and (4) go hard in the burgeoning Asia market by create a Asian version of Private Division or EA Originals, ans (5) create a Dragon Quest version of Genshin Impact as Square needs another GaaS hit for stability.

I’m of the opinion Tencent will buy Ubisoft, that Amazon won’t buy any publisher, and that MS will eventually buy Sega.

Why don’t you think amazon will buy a publisher? I would argue its inevitable as I highly doubt they will sit back and let Microsoft continue buying major players (same with the other big tech companies), hell amazon also has a platform to push with luna

Because they haven’t really gone all in on gaming

Maybe they will. We don’t know yet. Though looking at this New World support it is hard to say.

Maybe, but until they show increased investment or interest I would not put them very high on the list of companies to do an $8 billion acquisition.

even if they don’t care about gaming they will buy into it most likely just to hold onto them as assets just to prevent Microsoft from being too dominate, but we know facebook and 3 other triple A companies were intrested in acquiring Activision and facebook showed almost 0 intrest in gaming and their are not a lot of companies who could of afforded activision (most of which not showing much to any intrest in gaming), so that is an incredibly weak argument in my opinion

I like how it not being a key market for them is a weak argument but a defense acquisition (in a non-key market) is a strong argument.

Okay

it may not be a key market for them but it isn’t really one for Microsoft or facebook either, hell only recently Microsoft started taking gaming seriously. Amazon probably doesn’t want to be in a situation were microsoft is the dominate player in the gaming market which is the most profitable entertainment medium (same with other big tech companies ect.). Like facebook showed pretty much 0 intrest in gaming yet they tried to buy activision too and even if we assuming tencent was one of the remaining 3 parties that still leaves 2 empty slots, I would imagine one was likely amazon and for the other…not sure, maybe apple

source?

We need some bingo card on that :joy:

Nintendo never tried to buy Namco, they just invested in them owning 2.6% of the company and Nintendo has said they don’t want to acquire companies for the most part. Also Namco is more a toy company than a gaming company, an industry nintendo left a long time ago, so why would nintendo buy namco LMAO. If Nintendo bought a publisher it would be Koei Tecmo or maybe SEGA but more likely the latter

It was all the news back then.

They ended up with Monolith Software as their consolation prize.

Shit…forgot about that. I’ll replace SNK with Tribute Games who did Mercenary Kings which is basically a Contra type game with very light RPG elements.

Wasnt this prove wrong a couple of days ago?

image Imagine saying that when the Saudi prince is able to buy SNK’s shares. They would buy it and your argument is pointless. Microsoft can buy a Japanese publisher but it would be difficult. Maybe 2 to 3 years they could work on it until they agree the deal.
