Xbox Acquisition |OT5| Talking Exclusively About Xbox Acquisitions

I honestly believe this is the next full publisher acquisition and could have been in talks before ABK became a possibility and it certainly fits Microsoft’s purchasing history of buying low

I wouldn’t be against Microsoft getting Ubisoft if it was 5-10 years ago but present day Ubisoft I wouldn’t want even if they are cheap to acquire.

There are much better publishers than Ubisoft. I’d rather see more quality games rather than quantity.

They have a lot of games that have “Perfect for Game Pass” written all over them though. Being under Xbox might also change a lot of things for the better too.

I’d say like any of the other teams, free them from having to churn out a assassins creed and whatever other stuff they do to be a profitable company and you might get much more desiresble results.

At a minimum it’d fill the third person gap lol

I started replaying Plague Tale again tonight ahead of Requiem. I have to say it’s the best Naughty Dog style game (not made by Naughty Dog) I have ever played.

Focus Entertainment own the IP but it was developed by Asobo.

In addition to Asobo I think Focus Entertainment would be a great pickup, they are really cheap and own DotEmu!

Xbox can’t buy everything, their list of defensive buys can’t be that big, I’d wager its major independent studios like CDPR and then EA and Take 2. I don’t think any of the Japanese publishers are.

Maybe a few of the games would for game pass but Ubisoft is going towards the free to play/live service route so it’s not really going to boost game pass. Also I don’t really see anything exciting for Ubisoft within the next few years other than the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora game.

Ah…I wouldn’t say they need to be defensive with Sony but besides that…I agree Microsoft should try to outbid whoever for SEGA and Ubisoft if it comes to it. I don’t think Microsoft should care with CDPR, Microsoft already owns most big WRPG games at this point

I still think once Activision goes through, Sega is next.

If it fails to go through, Nintendo is next.

the day Nintendo is bought will be an incredibly sad day for gaming

Why ?

I’ll get all their titles for a cheap sub fee instead of very expensive prices that never have sales

cos it will be my childhood bought…and culturely it would feel like buying disney but for gaming in a way.

Like getting their games in a subscription service would be awesome, nintendo easily makes the best games in the industry in my opinion but it would feel…wrong

Lol at “feelings” for a billion dollar company who doesn’t care about you…

Nintendo makes great games but their online service and subscription is pure garbage.

Atleast MS would put voice chat, text chat on Nintendo platforms, let you buy classic titles, cheap sub for all first parties etc…

Atleast xbox will be closer to their idea of launching games constantly for gamepass, and ubisoft has some amazing ips

But still I dont want them

I never said Microsoft would care or it wouldn’t have positive affects, just it would be a sad day for gaming and I was refering to a more spiritual may not benifical way

I’d be happy because it’d mean being able to play their games on decent hardware lol.

Not happening though.

yeah I agree, it won’t happen any time soon at least, like considering how well Nintendo is doing right now I could easily see it costing $100 billion right now

To me Microsoft doesn’t need Assassins Creed. Microsoft owns Age of Empires which I would look forward to seeing a third person AAA campaign based off of that going through different stories of world leaders or events such as one on the Mongol Empire and Genghis Khan or Napoleon and the French Revolution.

And while I agree there are a lot of great IPs Ubisoft owns I just don’t see Ubisoft being how it used to with having both quality and quantity games where right now they are at quantity.

Their hardware has been awful since the GameCube too.

I mean we just got a Ethernet port on the Switch in 2021!!

I probably play on my Switch more than my Xbox, but that’s only because their first party content is brilliant if you have young kids like me.

wasn’t the gamecube the strongest console released that gen, I know it was more powerful than the PS2, the issue with the gamecube was the mini disks
