Xbox Acquisition |OT5| Talking Exclusively About Xbox Acquisitions

1.2b is the retention bonus. So essentially the real price is 2.4b+ and all that GaaS experience true.

I love Japanese games. I play every big jrpg on switch and Xbox. I’ve played every final fantasy game every made. Suikoden is one of my favorite game series of all time. I play most of the Bandai Namco games and all the From Soft games and Koei games.

It’s just that aside from Monster Hunter, Capcom is not that quality. They’re way behind Square and Koei in quality and games that can advance Xbox’s name in Japan.

Capcoms best games are two generations ago at this point. When they made Dino Crisis and the first two dead rising and lost planet and resident evil actually had decent story telling. Not their current stuff.

this is a bad take and just wrong

What’s the current Capcom’s main output

  • Resident Evil
  • Street Fighter
  • Monster Hunter
  • Devil May Cry?

Dragons Dogma 2

Pragmata

Mega Man

I’m probably forgetting something else.

Well, I hope Pragmata won’t go deep down…

Their latest stuff outside monster hunter has not been up to snuff. SF5, bad. Resident Evil Village, horrible, if it didn’t have a vampire that drove guys crazy it would have been a 6/10, Devil May Cry, good, but not on par with the games I mentioned. Megaman hasn’t evolved, it badly needed a Metroid Dread type renovation.

I forgot about ace attorney until now, that’s decent.

Guess we have different taste then cause I thought both Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil Village was great

Woah…. Now I’ll be the first to jump onto criticizing Capcom’s output for the period between 2010 and roughly 2017 (they killed off their best studio at the time during that period, for starters), but to say their output 2017 onward has been bad is objectively false. I could see concern regarding the longevity of the recent boon times, given Capcom’s inconsistent history (I’ve even made that argument), but that’s about it. I would still say Sega would have a potentially greater impact for Xbox, in its genre diversity, IP, and historical relevance, but I won’t pretend that Capcom wouldn’t be an absolute catch iiiiif Xbox were to pursue them.

Edit: typo, replaced “would” with “wouldn’t”

I just don’t think their output is better than Square Enix or Koei Tecmo or Bandai Namco. And I think Sega has much more potential and long term impact

They’re miles and miles ahead of Konami though!

Sega is absolutely incredible for branding. They get Sonic mascot and Sega label. (Western stuff is good, Japanese stuff is so so aside maybe Yakuza)

Capcom is a very good get for content and close to none ties with other industries.

The only Capcom games I’ve ever played is Dead Rising 3 + 4

Is that an Australian “if”?

Is this real or are we just trying to manifest it?

It’s just one of those things that have been heavily rumored and been commented on by Itsuno a couple times, especially when DMCV was on the way.

Right now, nothing actually official, but it’s basically confirmed at this point.:joy:

More than just rumored, it was confirmed in the Capcom hack that happened a while ago.

Oh yeah! I forgot it was in that.

I mean, there’s still a chance it could’ve been cancelled, but I doubt it.
