I think the only way we are guaranteeing an entire publishers output Day 1 is an acquisition. Big publishers don’t see them interested in putting AAA games Day 1.

Honestly, no need because I feel Elder Scrolls game moves the needle more than an open world LOTR game. Also with that $2billion you can acquire studios or make some gamepass day one deals, so it’s not that worth the investment. Also, unsure how popular LOTR IP is today like I know Modor sold well, but don’t think other LOTR games in the past moved the needle

I don’t think that’s the way. MS is not going to get every pub in the industry to put all the games in the world in XGP. You need to convince them that XGP deals are impossible to refuse.

I’d say they have a number of gaps. At this point I don’t see Platformer as one of them. They just need to rededicate Toys for Bob to Platformer. IP wise there they have Spyro, Banjo, Crash, and Psychonauts. That’s plenty to be honest.

Their gaps I’d say are party, jrpg, 2d rpg, fighting, exploration, puzzle, rogue, moba, gacha, sandbox and horror.

I can totally see them doubling down on someone that focuses on other genres they already have though to secure premium IP and mindshare.

2d rpg, exploration, puzzle, moba as of LOL, Dota 2 and smite ? (waste of time and money chasing this moba market).

I don’t think these are important or missing from xbox in general.

as for gacha (this need to be mobile game designed and not for GP or xbox).
