I’m not necessarily sure the entirety of WB is necessary. NetherRealm is the obvious pick, but I’d love to know more of what’s happened at those other studios aside from the obvious mismanagement, turmoil at TT, sexual harassment at Rocksteady, etc.

Like…. It’s been nearly a decade since WB Montreal released their last major game. Rocksteady is getting up there too. Did Mordor get discontinued or is that still being worked on alongside Wonder Woman?

The whole publisher honestly seems like a mess.

I really hope they snag them all, they are all very talented studios that I’d love to see under xbox management, plus I’d have to guess they would be fairly cheap considering they won’t come with IP with the exception of MK. The fact that multiple studios hasn’t released a game in what seems like forever screams of mismanagement. I really wish we would have got that batman forever game.

Everyone forgets Bezos told investors “We won’t make profit this year, we’re reinvesting it to grow the compamy” and while other companies cares about profits Amazon sped past them.

And now Amazon is king.

There’s no rule saying maybe in 2017 Phil didn’t say… "we will break even this generation, but grow like crazy "

For example, I’m currently playing through the FEAR trilogy. After the ABK deal Microsoft would (at least partially) have publishing rights for FEAR and FEAR Files, but 2/3 (and the IP itself) are with WB. That could be an easy 4 permanent games to the Game Pass catalog and could potentially have a reboot down the line.

Idk, just seems like it could be a cheapish option for long term Game Pass titles, but obviously studios are a priority.

I think there are a few scenarios where WB holds the IP like this.

For example ‘No One Lives Forever’ is another fantastic game where WB hold the IP but ABK has the rights I think.

Would love to see both return!

It’s why even without the scrutiny from regulators, I cannot see many acquisitions, and definitely not publishers, for a while after the ABK goes through.

The publisher is massive so that alone will require time to integrate within Microsoft, but then you have the liternay of issues over there as well to sort out.

I absolutely want another No One Lives Forever and there was reports that Activision and WB might hold part of tge license, so if WB does get WB Games, then 100% this game has to come back.

Plus it would be another strong female lead too, which would be nice.

Metaverse is just a buzzword and not the underlying reason for anything. Game Pass Content and growing the 1st party is the reason thats it.

The IP’s are a bonus.

trust me buying publisher was not just for studios, it was for IPs and communities it bring with it for Zenimax, same goes for Acti with addition PC centric games and a way to enter Mobile market.

there is a lot of independent talented studios out there that would cost buying them less than 5B let alone 80B…
