Xbox Acquisition |OT4| It's Acquisition Season for Xbox with $69 Billion deal, NICE!

It’s literally superhero material.

Speaking of Riot, while not for an acquisition (lol) I think MS should explore a partnership to bring their games to Xbox.

Gotta tell you, still not 100% sold on this acquistion.

It’s a lot of money taking up ALOT of time that could prevent other better tastier acquistions.

There’s no guarantee that CoD stays exclusive or that talented studios like TfB or Raven/High Moon get rescued from the CoD mines.

If we lose out on partner studios or somebody else because it’s taking 18 months to clear for CoD… I’m going to write an angry shitpost.

Im sold on Activision as long as every studio gets to do what they want, and isnt a Cod factory.

One studio for Cod thats it. No more fucking annual games which all play the same

I’m with you.

If TfB can make new Crash/Spyro/Banjo games and VV can go back to Tony Hawk or other games, then hell yes.

But if things remain as CoD/Blizzard factories then this was a tremendous waste of money and time that could have been better used elsewhere.

Agreed.

Like Sledgehammer is made up of guys who made Dead Space. Let em make a new Horror game

Hindle why do you ask the impossible lol. Its like asking for people to debate you freely.

Like CoD can still enjoy a healthy cycle with all 3 current developers WHILE they can make other stuff.

Its not impossible. One IP does not need 3 AAA studios. Its against Phils mantra as well.

You’re right on everything expect the “1 studio” angle. You’re almost like saying Turn10 and 343i shouldn’t be making Forza and Halo too. 3 CoD studios exist and we should expect it will continue to be that way. And believe I’d like for what you want to happen somehow but I don’t expect it because it doesn’t make sense.

Other studios should be put off CoD and on to their own games, that I agree.

It absolutely will continue. There is no option for Mojang to discontinue Minecraft for example.

Many studios get granted a lot of freedom, but it’s obvious that not every studio is equal in that regard.

I’m with Hindle on this one.

Keep Treyarch and Infinity Ward, but space the games out so much you give the studios time to work on other games.

Sledgehammer CoDs have never been great, so you can let them work on new IP or moved to Warzone.

Remove Highmoon, Beenox and TfB from CoD, let them go back to making new games.

Crash/Banjo/Spyro for Toys For Bob,

Vicarious Visions is taken off Diablo 4 after it ships, goes back to making Crash/Tony Hawk Games

Beenox works on a Xbox Cart game or give them a B-Level Marvel hero since they have experience with yearly decent Spider-Man titles.

High Moon goes back to Transformers as the other big licensed IP for Xbox or new IPs.

Raven I would wish gets removed from Warzone, but they are the main devs and it might be to late to have them return to non-CoD titles.

Treyarch has a talent for making open-world games dating back to the wonderful Spider-Man 2 and 3 on the OG Xbox.

I think Treyarch is big enough and given enough time can branch out from CoD and go back to it’s roots.

Completely different studio and talent then what it was 20 years ago lol. I’m sure we’ll see them expand and work on a different IP in the long run though.

I want Infinity War to pull a Respawn. Keep up the CoD but give us a Fallen Order too lol

  1. The support studios be their own thing

  2. IW, Sledgehammer and Treyarch dont gotta put out 8 cod’s a gen. With just maybe 4 a gen and some other projects I think Microsoft will be happy.

If they buy a Bungie, 343 and Bungie should definitely have a dedicated team on a shared engine for halo and Destiny.

Keep them but expand them to two teams, make the game release every Two years.

i’m sure a lot of sledgehammer games, Infinety ward and Treyarch Devs would want to continue making COD games

Cant believe we will have this discussion again for a year or two. We live in hell.

This is all we are saying but Hindle advocating for 1 studio per IP is madness especially CoD which has 3 dedicated ones.
