As such, Sony no longer has as many assets (not speaking strictly cash) as they once did given sector shuttering and spin-offs, and they’ve had their credit rated as junk numerous times in the last decade. So yes, of course they can take on debt, but the amounts that people are suggesting they do tend to misalign with what creditors might be willing to do so. Ultimately, it all returns to the initial point though: Sony doesn’t need to do so and, perhaps more importantly, has shown repeatedly that their acquisition strategy is considerably smaller than some bad-faith users would suggest (not you, to be clear). Sony’s focus thus far, even throughout “acquisition season”, has been smaller partners and/or studios that provide PC experience to assist with porting titles.

It just drives me crazy when anyone says, “XXX can’t do YYY because of ZZZ” if I know their facts and/or logic are faulty. It’s definitely a character flaw of mine. Ha.

Relic and Company of Heroes would be great for XBOX and its efforts to expand Gamepass PC with RTS (this Is the most popular genre on Gamepass itself) but i think Creative Assembly and Total war would be much bigger.

Well, last year the Japanese had 41 billion

Then turned into 16 billion

Apparently, the rest of the money was used somewhere or will be used.

I’m even more confident that Sony will buy Square Enix in the end.

Sony aren’t just a gaming company. They will be spending money across the board… They have paid billions for record labels in the last number of years and are buying music rights from massive artists like Bruce Springsteen ($500m) and Paul Simon, Simon and Garfunkel ($200m).

Microsoft should buy the rights to the Witcher… I mean the book rights… like what UBI did with Tom Clancys rights.

They have the Netflix deal advertising future games. Future licensed films are a massive revenue stream and they can churn out games in what will probably becoming one of the biggest gaming IPs when the history books are wrote.

Imagine the popularity of an exclusive Witcher game?
