in game industry we dont have lot of tech and tools for animation simulation and rendering they need all of that for future and cloud gaming

Minecraft is a major reason why Xbox is still around. The value in the IP convinced Nadella to trust in Phil. The acquistion is probs amongst the best thats ever been seen

Minecraft is a reason xbox is a core pillar at Microsoft by it and Phil showing gaming could be important. I dont put much stock into the “major reason xbox is around” because its absolutely nonsense and disrespectful to every other studio and people involved that put in work to rebuild the brand.

…t even look. Not only that MS majority of IPs don’t have the cartoony nature that makes MK look good as a kart racer. You know how weird it would be to see Master Chief in a kart, next to Marcus Fenix in a kart, next to Quantum Break guy in a cart. You don’t even have to imagine this, just look at PS All Stars. Visually that game just had too many realistic characters that didn’t mash well the few cartoon like characters like Parappa. If anything MS should make a Forza Metal game. It should take elements from games like Twisted Metal, Burnout, Blur, Split Second, and make it a real arcade racer. And by Arcade Racer I mean real Arcade Racer. Horizon is still a simulator. If you can’t ram into other cars it’s not an arcade game, and Horizon fans get upset when you ram into their cars in races.

I don’t think it has to be as character-driven as traditional Kart racers.

It’s more of a drift-heavy, physics-optional, combat-element, super-casual racer.

Like, take the Hot Wheels expansion and dial it up to 10 and add weapons and on-course obstacles and stuff.

I mean beg to differ. The IP gave Phil a great negotiating tool to take to Nadella as to convince him there was value in gaming. Nothing else at the time came close

So we are gonna ignore the actual studios like Playground that put in the work or The Coalition or 343 and such to give all of the credit to Mojang who has never bothered to support the home console with anything beyond the bare minimum? Sure.

Attributing all the xbox Renaissance to Mojang is insulting lol.
