A good example of this is Pokemon.
I’m a fan since forever, but God Gamefreak doesn’t even try anymore…

Just imagine a Forzatech kart racer.
Pokemon is the perfect example of mediocre games selling ONLY due to their name.
Yeah, that was great, but for some reasons people never acknowledged Sonic kart racers as “great”. Then the last one was not that good/supported after launch.
Double Fine could make it work great in my opinion.
But I think Xbox isn’t ready to go this way yet, Studios are in that “freedom mode” doing their passion jobs right now.
But I can see a hero shooter being made in the future.
No, not at all, it’s just flat-out incredible. Crash has a good racer, Sonic had a good one on 360… they don’t diminish what Mario Kart 8 (and previous ones) are. It’s just special. Even if it’s not for you, I think the quality is pretty objectively unbelievable.
I mean, Jez has teased a MOBA of some sort is in the works, just not based on Xbox mascots IIRC.
Imo it’s the usual Nintendo thing, everything they do is considered “special”, maybe because I left that train since a lifetime ago I don’t feel the same.
Anyway, we are OT. XD
We need an acquisition ASAP, lmao.
I think that’s probably a mobile game right? I don’t even think about it because I hate the genre…
They still just make the best games, that’s the usual Nintendo thing.
Nintendo make the best quality games full stop, even if you don’t like them. It’s funny how 60fps and minimal loading times are the amazing features for the new consoles, when those things were Nintendo standards for most of their games in the past lol
People mentioning Forza Kart in here is just more of a reason for SEGA…
Come on guys, you might not have said you’re on board, but something is beckoning you to the light.
And if it’s not the light, there’s something else that can be brought…
Well, it’s certainly easier when your games have a quarter of assets/resolution/scope and budget. Nintendo mostly abandoned high end gaming after Gamecube. When they make a big scope game like the last Zelda, there you see 30fps, loadings, framerate problems, etc…
SEGA for the IPs, other than that nobody keeps me more confident than Turn10/Playground.
Have you played Yakuza 7/LAD?
They have a super fun Kart Racing mini game in that one.
Idk, RGG seemingly can do no wrong when it comes to quality (although I saw mixed reviews for the newest Super Monkey Ball game/port).
Not yet, I’m still at 6, I’m in hiatus with Yakuza after playing five of them non stop. XD
I get it! I played 0-7 in around a year and I think it’s the reason I haven’t dived too much into Judgment yet.
I can’t do that with many franchises, but holy crap I can’t imagine what a Yakuza game with Microsoft funding might become. I can’t let it go from my head.
Yep, Yakuza with MS money can easily stomp almost all of western open world games, it’s already better than the majority of them, but it clearly lacks the same level of funding. Imagine a Yakuza with Forza Horizon budget.
