Not only will Xbox and Sega have a stronger partnership but the person that makes all the gaming content deals has formed a strong relationship with Sega. They’ll be talking a heck of a lot, so even if this deal wasn’t something, Sarah is now going to be all over Sega any more content for Xbox.
I wasn’t comparing thd deals but the news coverage of the deals. Ruetuers is not a gaming website i would say seems a lot of excitement…hope that made sense.
The specifics no, but a lot of the contents can be gleaned just knowing how the billable hours structure works for support at MS to get an idea of cost of any kind of support fees. the cost of azure services. They are forming an alliance and while sega is probably getting better rates than just default rates. The services rendered that they have shared aren’t explicitly unique.
This is why its the messaging and how things are presented are key. As for example intel also uses azure, intel also works closely with Microsoft and have allied on many projects, and never did they roll out the carpet like this. Even the sony alliance didn’t have this kind of lip service and they were using that to partly PR there way into more development studios using their azure platforms.
I say Sega joins before starfield releases.
I was using second party on gaming forums along with stacks of other people in like 2005. Good times. I have no idea why it fell out of favour, it was a useful way to describe externally developed games published by a platform owner.
I appreciate your optimism.
Personally, my guesses are:
Turtle Rock - 2021/early 2022
WB Games - late 2022/early 2023
IOI - 2023 if Project Dragon releases and is a hit
Square West - maybe 2023/24
Sega - later on in the generation, if Game Pass has truly taken off
Obviously this isn’t comprehensive (Asobo when?!?) but this is stuff I see being more feasible than not.
According to @Hindle, by 2025, Avowed might actually have come out, and maybe Fable too! ![]()
Blizzard trainwreck can’t stop, Jen Oneal has left the co-leadership role, only Mike Ybarra left. At this rate Microsoft could have a bridge to buy the assets.
You forgot Asobo.
Maybe we should bring it back

It honestly could happen. Also take the crash and Spyro IP away from Bobby since those games aren’t being made anymore.
The dream would be to grab Toys for Bob (before they bleed further talent) and get the Crash/Spyro IPs with them.
I’d throw other studios into there, but they’ve probably changed so much over the years that I’m not sure it would amount to what we’d want.
(or they’ve been absorbed into Blizzard)
Toys for Bob, the Call of Duty team?
I thought that to, but does ms want that mess as far as the investigations. and lawsuits.,bad studio environment for women?
They were just recently put onto CoD. That’s why I said grab them before they bleed more talent.
They developed Crash 4 and Spyro Reignited. They’d be essential to continuing those IP (or possibly Banjo).
that’s why i’ve said assets, there won’t be employees from it.
You know they need a team to hand it to that people have faith in…look at the hell 343 going through with bungie halo fans, wow fans would be the same way. They needto keep the wow subscribers not bleed more. I,really think ybarra will leave and return to Microsoft at some point.
Poor Mike and Rod left at the worst of times.
I was joking ![]()
