I’d still be curious if Microsoft would be interested in acquiring the System Shock IP. Already have a remake of the first game in the works and news has it that Tencent took over development of the third game……
Might be too convoluted for a mess for Microsoft to have interest in, but the rights remain with Nightdive.
The right time to step in would have been when SS3 was crashing and before they sold the game to Tencent. The studio got gutted because apparently nobody they shopped around to wanted to save the game. I was actually very disappointed when nobody stepped in to save the studio. That would have been a cheap game to salvage with a publishing deal even if they didn’t want to buy the studio.

The studio has been acquired and reopened with a new team.
It’s why their games are back on the stores.

Konami, Square/Taito and Sega got through reestructures over the time, it’s not a heavy indicative that they are up to be acuired, COVID-19 may have been the main factor, it could be an indicative for acquisition? Maybe, but since it’s not something that only SegaSammy did, it could very well just mean it’s business as usual, also wasn’t the merger back then majority owned by Sammy?

For years, my trifecta of disappointment was Star Wars Battlefront III, Scalebound, and The Wolf Among Us 2. At least one of them was saved……
Really would love to see Xbox acquire a simple narrative studio like Supermassive or DONTNOD. Perfect formula for Game Pass.
I hope for a The Wolf Among Us 2 announcement soon, but it’s just rumors for now. The new team must be busy, as they rebooted the game in 2019. They were supposed to announced it a few months ago, iirc.

That was a rollercoaster of emotions, that’s for sure. I think we have to wait and see. They probably don’t want to overworked themselves with multiple titles like the old Telltale. Just a guess.
Unless this OT goes on slow-mo again, I expect another OT to be finished by then.
