Xbox Acquisition |OT3| 100% Organic Growth

Pardon my English, it is not my native tongue. but I think you get what I mean.

talking about the Zenimax Acquisition as if it is the end goal is ridiculous. Zenimax just gave them the chance to fight within the same playing field. I want to see them exceed.

P.S. they are already exceeding in everything except in exclusives.

How is everything backfiring? We literally have an exclusive Starfield and Redfall next year, but ok. Sony has been affected by COVID too, you know. And regarding the 3rd-party partnerships, we haven’t had this many in quite a while.

Anyway I suggest getting back to topic.

You’d have a point regarding first-party pre-ZeniMax, not post. You’re sweating over nothing my guy. We’re eating good.

This is obviously very subjective if we’re just talking about personal interest.

yes i agree but why do you think people want more studios ? let’s say JP studios, because their is no games of this type to feed/satisfy the fanbase.

if they don’t want to acquire more studios then that is fine but the games still needs be made,

i mean let see their XGP Deals all of them is not what needed and it’s not type of games GP is Missing.

If you really really like Returnal and love remakes of old games than I guess you can make the argument that is better than all of Bethesda

for the record, I personally really really liked Returnal, but that aside it’s still a bit subjective. I’d give you value…but idk if I’d make the blanket statement of best package.

I would it’s not even a close contest. Xbox added several billion dollar franchises, many other IP, more studios in total including 5 studios that have delivered 90+ rated games and way more staffing, not to mention valuable tech. Sorry but nothing any other company has done in the past 10 years is close.

See, thing is I can’t dispute that. I guess I digress but it still seems uncomfortable accepting that statement IF we’re taking into account personal interest.

I really don’t want to delve in this anymore so this will be my last reply on this topic:

“nothing any other company has done in the past 10 years is close” is a true statement but that’s only because all other companies were already miles and leagues ahead. What did Xbox have pre -2018? 3 to 5 studios? and not even all of them made console games?

that’s the source of my complaint, I know they are still in the process of building and growing those 2018 acquisitions but that would make you think Xbox would be the company that will work harder on 3rd party exclusives. or at least if they know they’re in the process of buying Zenimax not allow their 2021 releases to be gobbled by the competitor!

Look, I have said it many times but I will say it again, after all, I am new to the Xbox platform my main attraction is gamepass and that is still doing Okay. but it really stings when Sony is out there locking things for years on their console and Xbox is here being in good spirit and try to bargain for GamePass deals.

Come on.

In those 10 years Sony sold 130m PS4’s and consolidated themselves again as the top dog in the industry and Nintendo rebounded with the Switch in a way that is unbelievable to this day.

Xbox has done good for a 3 year span and its great to see but as amazing as the Zenimax purchase is we wont really see any fruits of it till 2022 and further.

I meant via acquisitions but I can see how my post wasn’t clear about that.

Imagine if you lost all future Bethesda Games. I’ll never understand this take when MS just took a huge publisher off the market and made their games exclusive*.

The future is amazingly bright, I don’t know why some of you guys don’t see it.

I understand the desire for more and more, but if folks look at XGS today and think “we have a problem” then I don’t really know what to tell you.

For some people it seems as if they can only process the status of the brand literally on whatever the current day is and if Xbox isn’t doing something on that day to make up ground in the console war then various types of meltdowns will ensue.

I’m gonna make a post about this just for once.

Stop letting Sony and their rabid fanboys rent free in your heads. If you have an issue with X people from that part of the fanbase, you just call them out, if you can’t, them just ignore them.

Xbox in three and half years went from meager five studios and a bleak future because of Microsoft higher ups negligence, to the major powerhouse in the first party. Xbox doesn’t need to go there and “own” the rabid fanboys by negligecting a port of a 25 year old game, they are already making sure Starfield and Redfall are exclusive, remember all these people thinking 'BUT MICROSOFT AIN’T GONNA MAKE 'EM EXCLUSIVE", well there you go, you gonna get some crumbs because they also respect these remasters being originally multiplatform, they won’t act like a green side vengeful rabid fanboy who will deny because yes.

And now, what it matters to Xbox: Their customer and the treatment, with GamePass i’ve seen lots of playstation 4 owners flipping to Xbox Series, either to X or an S as a main or affordable multiplatform console, major complaints that you can see all the web, especially in the third world, is how Sony has a shitty customer relation and lack of pro consumer politics, and they have been taking L after L with that, no Smart Delivery, no free upgrades for most games, trying to force paid upgrade for a game that was promised a free one( Horizon 2) and still selling the useless PS5 SKU at 70 dollars even if PS4 at 60 comes with it for free as honoured (that thing will led to court cases).

Consoles doesn’t sell solely on exclusives, in fact, multiplatform support matters as equal or actually bigger, otherwise, the WiiU would have been a success, the Gamecube lost to OG Xbox because of the lack of third party support too. There’s other pillars, including price and politics. Xbox One had a shitty price and online only DRM that led people to flock to the PS4, no one gave a shit about exclusives which were the worst until 2015 (remember Knack?).

Microsoft will acquire studios, we will know WHEN it happens, we don’t need them buying whatever it breathers because “OMG WE NEED TO OWN THESE SONY FANBOYS” because these people are the butt joke for more than a decade who think they are superior, I never seen a PC, Nintendo or no preference platform talking against Xbox, but they have stories to tell about Sony fanboys being shit, no wonder why these fanbases tend to support Xbox against Playstation. And right now the Sonyboys are the biggest joke out there, trying to defend stupid policies and keeping a blind eye on stuff they consider “impure and bad for the industry” while Sony at their current situation have been spooking indie devs, japanese devs, and now being a years late trendchaser on GaaS and Multiplayer, something they deride as being impure on anyone else.

Remember, companies when they are on the lead can be assholes, Sony did that, Microsoft did that, Nintendo did that. I like Xbox because they have the most pro customer policies, cheaper localized prices, gamepass, and support, this is something that matters to a big chunk of the customers who have been seeing the brand with positive eyes over the last two years and now are at the first Xbox hardware. What I want is a company that stands in that way, rather than playing an asshole having a sheeple annoying fanbase who thinks they are the aristocrats.

I vote with my wallet, and Xbox has been making the worth of it, the staff, the content, the efforts, I’ve been having a blast with Gamepass playing many games that I would never tought of playing it, and here’s a thing, I rarely play exclusives, I play mostly the multiplatforms. The day they become assholes is the day I leave to somewhere else. Don’t worship a company, worship a god from a religion if you want to.

What? The way you’re framing this is really obnoxious. MS is “bargaining for gamepass deals”? What the hell does that even mean?

Look, if you’re upset that Sony is locking down the likes of FF7R for multiple years, I get it. But, and it’s a big Sir’Mixalot approved but, MS has locked down arguably the biggest most high profile game in years in Starfield. They’ve also locked down the next Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Doom, Wolfenstein, Quake, and whatever else is cooking inside Zenimax.

I’ll be honest, if you’re more jealous of FFR7 and a few other games being tied down for a few years than you are some some the biggest damn IP’s not just currently but in the entire history of the industry, well, I don’t really know what to say.

I get that some people are impatient and want acquisitions, and I even get that some people feel like Sony is “stealing the spotlight”, but ffs people, look at the bigger picture and open your eyes to what’s been happening. MS has been powering up to 9,000 and they’re not even there yet. Things are going to be really, really good in the near and distant future. Just relax, lol. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I don’t look at it that way exactly. But I do look at it like if Microsofts serious and all in on gaming and they really want to get to subscriber numbers like Netflix has then they need to drastically diversify their exclusive content offerings.

I look at it and see major holes for exclusive content.

To get to Netflix levels they really need exclusive content in more areas like Fighting games, JRPGs, RTS, cinematic adventures, E rated, platforming, superhero, sandbox, anime, puzzle, storybook, metroidvania, hack and slash, Rogue like, MOBA. The list is so big to appeal to such a large and wide audience, they really have a lot to do to get there.

Couple that with the dev time for games and I think they need to act quickly to start attacking the bigger population of users in the genres I mentioned.

I believe they’ll need to be acquiring studios continuously for the next 10 years at least and need to be up around 50 studios, so no time to be satisfied. Now is time for action.

they also want to reach billions of people for that they definitely need variety and even MS CEO himself said they aint stopping so idk why grubb says they r okay with what they have

I don’t think MS is stopping, I just think they have moved out of the NEED and are into WANT phase. They’ll make acquisitions that make sense and don’t need to try and go tit for tat with their competitors.
