I think Klobrille had been hinting for a while about Obsidian to the point where Obsidian had to come out and deny it, only for it to turn out true anyway lol.
Yep
You’ve obviously never met a Seattle Mariners fan.
People who claim to know something why they don’t say it? Are they afraid of Microsoft or something?
Always. Never underestimate MS or Apple or Google or Amazon’s legal team
Yeah… especially if you leak a public acquisition or something like that.
Insider trading is like what? 20 year sentence ?
Oh lol. Ooof
Was there going to be an announcement today? Or just hype over no evidence
Back in 2018 resetera found out in public fillings that some of the Microsoft M&A staff was named in the board of directors, this was weeks before E3. Then around August Klobrille got ahold of the letter of acquisition for Obsidian, I think he said something about an API flaw that allowed him to get access.
I don’t think any aquisitions were set to be announced today. No. We’ll just have to wait and see I guess
I can’t imagine the panic their PR team must have got once that happened.
I’m fine with all of the good faith rumor-mongering, basically no matter how reckless the mongering may be or how flimsy the support. (Within some degree of reason.)
But what irks me is seeing the some of the media types (who will remain unnamed) start to turn on the community, telling them the need to calm down or whatnot, after those same media types have been the ones whipping up interest with rumors and inside jokes and such.
I feel like these people need to understand that their messaging will reach a whole spectrum of people, and that out of every 100 five of them will be in the “craziest five percent,” and that they need to either (1) be more conservative / responsible with their reporting / jokes, or (2) be less judgmental when trying to tame the fervor that they’ve spent months being complicit in whipping up.
Just speculation based on it being a year since Bethesda was acquired. Same as it was right before E3. Somebody posted a thing, somebody posted the eye emoji, Take-Two acquisition confirmed.
And what a weird thing to speculate. Why on Earth would anyone think that a company would line up acquisitions to fall on anniversaries of other acquisitions? People are quite silly.
I’d think they would make it a point not to announce anything this week, even next week. Otherwise every year they will get harassed about aquisitions
If MS were to acquire Take Two (which I very much doubt), this board will become significantly more insufferable than it already has been for the last year.
That’s going to happen regardless. They could have announced Two-Two at 9am and after an hour of holy shits this thread would pivot back to Sega speculation.
LOL. True. “Sega when?” should be the OT title on the next restart of this thread.
If it were, it would have launched with Halo Infinite’s edition. It’s the same old V2 so we won’t see a V3 for 6 to 9 months.
Xbox acquisition discussion is approaching Qanon-level lunacy. Even Tim has had it. Lol
