Again, none of them are as big as Bungie or CDPR. I’m not just referring to popular names, but genuinely big ass studios that shall move some needles

MS would never do that to 343 lol. Plus I’m not at all sure if the current Bungie would do a decent job at a halo game again. Joe Staten is at 343, martys long gone. MS would only bring them on board to let them continue making destiny cuz that’s phils favorite game, and maybe something new, but not halo for sure.

I think that Kojima would definitely fit. Internet armchair lawyers would surely be talking about Monopoly if it happened lol.

Lmfaooooooooooooo

If it’s true Bungie’s asking price was 2 billion, then they are nowhere near worth it

That’s approaching publisher money for 1 dev and 1 IP

Phil would probably pay 10 billion for Bungie if he could have his way lmao

Bungie on anything Halo related is a PR disaster waiting to happen and throwing 343 to the wolves.

Would be nice to silence the Bungie standom.

“Wait… It can’t be… Bungie of today is… Not the same… as they once were?!1!”

IOI, Asobo, Remedy, WB Games and we’re good.

IOI - Hitman 1/2/3, Next James Bond, possible Xbox game (Project Dragon)

FromSoftware - Dark Souls, Sekiro, Elden Ring

Crytek - Crysis, Ryse Son of Rome

Off the top of my head.

I Forgot about From, they’re definitely on Bungie and CDPR level.

Fromsoft is not independent. They’re owned by Kadokawa Corp

Tencent holds a 30% stake in Larian. Typically with Tencent a minority stake is the first step towards acquisition.

Square fell apart because at the moment the contract was about to be signed (literally) They doubled their asking price ($4B instead of $2B).

Nintendo allegedly did that, didn’t stop Yamauchi calling the Xbox guys back to try to work something out.

Swen Vicke still holds a majority stake, MS just needs to buy it from him to “own” Larian.

That fell through because of old Square unreliability (they allegedly doubled the price overnight), and I don’t see a better outcome under current Square Enix
