yea it makes me think
Yeah, that’s true. Gotham Knights day one GP, Harry Potter day one, SW Lego Trilogy day one and so on, it be fucking awesome and you’re right, they’d have amazing talent added to XGS.
How dare you take that honor from Obsidian
Deadpool?
Hogwars Legacy on Gamepass day one would be massive. It is literally the second most watched game trailer on Playstation Youtube channel lol.
It would be hilarious for HP: big PS marketing, GP day one, lmao.
I think the most likely would be a premium paid for access to DC IP for video game purposes for some period of time. Like the game has to enter some state of development within 5-7 years. Enough so they could do a couple Batman games, and also room to explore other stuff.
There’s also the opportunity to just do the license on a game-by-game basis after the fact.
The most of T2 is GTA, which is literally a crown jewel of T2. Considering that GTA6 hasn’t been announced yet, it is the best chance to strike and make it fully exclusive. That would be a complete system seller move. After all if we remember about sales in India, where people literally asked to install GTA for them on Series S. GTA is one of those system sellers IPs that MS would want to own.
I do believe that WB will happen too, but I am not sure if it will happen right now - at least Netherealm, but MS is mostly aiming at IP. And that leaves us with publishers that own a lot of them. Unless MS wants to enter movie market I don’t see them going big and purchasing DC IPs for example.
They will have to negotiate third party IP for that. I doubt Phil wants to do that. He stated as much I think.
Of course Im just saying Paradox business wise makes the most sense to me due to the niche gap that it fills,
yea it would be bitter sweet
I wanted a Japanese publisher above all else, but WB is fine, T2 is meh even if it’s big.
T2 is mostly for GTA and the mind share that it will allow Xbox to acquire. With GTA exclusive, Xbox can become a household name like Playstation.
I think they would strike, at minimum, an EA-SW deal, 10 years of exclusivity of console/pc games, the real value are IPs here, as I said multiple times, talent can be poached.
And people here will change the tune suddenly regarding licensed games and xbox making hero games.
I think the same can be achieved with WBgames. Mortal Kombat is a giant too.
Yeah I feel like they’re literally perfect for making a Deadpool rpg
yep ive always said they should after how well its worked out for sony
WB would also give MS the biggest fighting franchise. It is a perfect acquisition really. It covers a lot of weakness in MS portfolio(Fighting, E Rated, Superheros).
Unless MS owns DC IPs, I don’t see them working on licensed IPs. It is certainly wouldn’t harm the brand though to have one or two licensed games, but I don’t believe that MS would willingly do that unless its own studios want to work on third party IPs.
WB is a must right now.
