The only other company that can acquire T2 is Tencent. Embracer and Sony don’t have enough resources to do that.

I don’t think Tencent could aquire Take2. China have cracked down on money moving out of China.
There is also a massive crackdown on gaming in China at present with kids only allowed something like 3hrs a week online gaming.

I thought the whole Take Two thing was just speculation. So its more than one insider that has mentioned Take Two being for sale? If its true then I think MS would pay an outrageous amount to get them. GTA 5 sold like 120 million? If you can just get half of those people to subscribe to Gamepass and they stay subscribed for several years that is a ton of revenue. NBA 2k would bring in a lot of new subscribers too. Take Two would be

Oh sure we’re going to talk about it. But some don’t like the idea…
What did he say exactly?
He said months ago he heard from sources he considers reliable, that Take 2 was the next big publisher to be sold, but given the sheer size if it were true, the legalites would take a long long time to get through.

Interesting to see it coming back at this again and indeed would take a long time to get through all the legalities behind the scenes. That’s why MS could do the same announcement as for Bethesda when they announced their planned acquisition to be later officialized.

I dont think MS will be buying T2 but the longer time goes on the more I feel the next purchase MS makes will be a big one and not some random dev

What I mean is, if a public company is up for sale, dont they have to make it public i.e. all of us would know who is in talks with buying them?

Take Two announced they were acquiring Codemasters out of nowhere. They did not have to announce that they were in talks.
