No worries, mate.
Whoa, big props for writing big messages with a controller. I am getting tired just from the typing the name of the game.
That was under another CEO, under this one MS does not behave anymore like the big bad american bully like in the past.
I said the least strategical, not useless. XD
And I don’t consider Square Enix unimportant. It would a strategical purchase. In fact aside Capcom, Square Enix is the biggest japanese publisher because - even Sega - despite having the treasure tove of IPs, mascot and soft power - does not make / publish big japanese games like Square Enix.
Sega of course is a must, because then I can die in peace as the prophecy will be fulfilled.
Thankyou sometimes so frustrating cant go in depth like i want to. I cant spell youtube poster its saur something it waz 2 weeks ago.
Get the cheapest usb keyboard you can find, plug it into your Xbox and type like a champion.
Yeah, Square would probably be the second best Japanese publisher in the market. Konami has been terrible for quite some time, Koei is too expensive for what they provide, Bandai is the most expensive one and most of their games are licensed.
Sega, Capcom and Square are the only worthwhile Japanese publishers, and I would say that Square would be a better acquisition than Sega.
Like Shadowgasm mentioned, get a lite cheap usb kb for your xbox, and you should be good.
Konami doesn’t even have game studios anymore. Only IPs. I always thought that MS would go after its IPs, but I guess this time it is gonna be Sony unfortunately. But whatever.
Koei? I mean. Please no. I want Koei to keep righting the ship on Fire Emblem. But Koei ain’t half bad.
They DO still make “games” and use their IPs though. That F2P Bomberman game that came out recently and had all of their characters as costumes (and in Japanese arcades they have “Bombergirl” which is apparantly pretty popular), that bad Contra game from a little while ago, the Castlevania mobile game is coming back again in Apple Arcade, Silent Hill merchandise and skateboards (wtf lmao) and I wouldn’t be surprised if they are still using them for pachinko.
I don’t like what they’re doing with their IPs, but they are not for sale. MS nor Sony is getting them.
Square is possibly the most mismanaged AAA publisher out there, their western division is a complete mess and has been for a very long time and while their Japanese side seems much better, they are a long way from the glory days of Squaresoft
That combined with all of money hats from Sony, id prefer MS to look elsewhere and as much as people hate them being brought up, oh lets be real, every publisher is getting brought up constantly in here, Sega ticks virtually every box MS would want
An absolute metric shit load of IPs
Kid friendly games
Japanese games
PC focused games
Incredible variety with everything from platformers, kart racers, srategy games, jrpgs and they seem to have a decent relationship stemming all the way back to the OG xbox days just like Bethesda
and while price is no issue for MS, they’d still be one of the cheapest publishers to get
I mean “Konami in gaming” these days is a “glorified mobile studio” basically. They are more into medical equipment rather than gaming. Nobody is gonna buy them.
The question is about IPs. Who’s gonna buy it. I always believed in MS trying to do that - and I recall Konami offered that a couple of years ago, but they asked for stocks and MS refused - but it seems like it maybe Sony. MS should try to siphon as many IPs as possible now before all the players will decide to make their subscription services.
With Netflix making some moves in gaming, Konami might have decided not to sell but it is not out of question.
Big final fantasy fan here, im biting my tongue…someone said bandai namco was liscenced ips. I’ve been researching bandai last few days and see it as the best choice. They have everything. Thwy have the third largest toy manufacturer in the world. They make their own anime shows, books, besides the game. They have a couple in japan and america like pac man type amusement centers. Plus their game development. They make video arcade machines. They are third largest game pub in japan. So when scarlet nexus launched they made, developed game, anime series, and a small line of products basically all under their corporation. Imagine joining xbox, lot of potential there. They would be good but they are very healthy so may not care or need to.sell.
Eidos made Shadow of the Tomb Raider. CD was working on Avengers at the time.
Did it? I got them mixed up then.
Still both are ideal mismanagement of Square.
I had a crazy idea here, what if instead of acquiring Square, MS sucks the talent out of their studios for XGS and Bethesda’s organic growth?
Tis just a thought tho.
The thing is that the studio can start working on the games, while sucking talent will require more time to form team and start working. Though that might increase the speed of the team. Creating teams take time.
The main reason MS is interested in Square is the IP. The talent without the IP doesn’t mean much to MS.
True, completely forgot about that.
