See a lot of people have different opinions on what TT games should do if MS bought them. I have a simple answer… why not both?!!.

Lego Banjo

I can’t for Banjo to come back so I can play it, enjoy it, and then talk about it on forums everywhere. Oh and then ask for a sequel.

Why do people assume that TT only can and wants to make Lego games? It’d be great if MS gets the Lego license but it doesn’t seem like a requirement for potential acquisition.

I think that their biggest potential lies in breaking away from LEGO let them do what they want for once.

Jeff Grubb on Windows Central stream just said he heard rumblings that a large investment from a western company to a Japanese company is happening . I believe he said as well the rumblings he heard are Kojima and Xbox but who knows

I only caught about 5 minutes of the stream guys you will have to check it out for yourselves to see if he said anything else, sorry I was in a rush

I actually think Crackdown could be revived as a Lego game.

They don’t. Obviously the people currently hired by TT can make other games. It’s about asking what is in the acquisition for MS?

If it’s not IP, and it’s not tech, what really is it?

You don’t buy staff. They aren’t indentured servants and talent can quit and go to another job somewhere else. If you want staff, better expand an existing studio and hire it.

I’m not even saying that a studio a platform holder buys needs to keep making their old IP. I actually get more excited by new IP. But when MS buys them they own it, and even if they bench it for a generation and let the team do something new, it’s there is their portfolio to reboot later. It’s something they didn’t own before that they do now.

With TT, it appears that they don’t actually own anything they didn’t the day before besides a studio name. Is that enough?

What is in it for MS? A existing group of talent with a existing development structure that is proven at pushing out content of high quality at a brisk pace. A group with existing relationships and management structure.

The primary concern for the buyer, in this hypothetical being MS, is keeping those people together and happy. Which MS has proven to be pretty good at lately.

I would imagine that Xbox would not influence what TT Games works on other than wanting the game to be E rated. They would give them access to their IP library and probably even let them work on the Minecraft property with their franchises if they wanted to make those style of games still. They would likely also have complete freedom to make a new IP if they have good ideas.

In regard to the banjo talk… surely Playful Corp is working with Xbox on something, right?
