Xbox Acquisition |OT2| Something, Something, Snowball Effect

I dont really think the problem with Ryse was budget or any of that. It wss a mediocre game that looked good.

Thats it.

Played Crysis 1 remaster a bit and I had enough an hour in.

Best Crytek engine game this past gen was PREY.

Well y’all have fun arguing this for hours on end without any real information other than Jez tweet.

I’m going to bed.

Not too sure about Crytek, nothing much there to buy and bad/toxic management. I don’t think MS is looking for a rehabilitation project, they seem to be more interested in GOOD working environments and creative people that just need resources. Think games that are good but have trouble competing at retail against AAA games.

Iron Galaxy might be one. They aren’t working on KI supposedly but they are working on something not revealed yet (I don’t think) and they’ve been working on it for awhile now.

Ryse: Son of Rome was epic. Period.

Damn Crytek does fit with what Jeff Grubb said.

Hmmm…

Off to bed to ponder.

Nostalgia glasses off, I still love Ryse. MS acquiring the IP and giving it the budget and platform it deserves would only be a positive.

Acquiring Crytek, however, would be exceedingly underwhelming and unlikely to further MSs attempts to diversify and enhance first party (GP) content by any significant amount.

The studio acquisition doesn’t have to send shockwaves through the industry ala Zenimax, but MS can do better with less investment than Crytek would require - and can poach the Ryse IP off them anyway

They made Ryse in like 2 years for the launch of a system that had a SDK that was in shambles. Its a miracle it wasn’t a complete disaster.

Wires may have been crossed, I’d speculate Crytek are being acquired, but not by MS, probs Embracer

Iron Galaxy would be a very good buy even if somehow they were able to get Netherelm

Yeah. Looked pretty and I liked the setting but the gameplay was boring. Deserved the bad reception it got. It’s got potential though if they make a sequel that’s actually fun. You know, what a game is supposed to be.

They’ve been oddly quiet IMO. They might be cooking up something big and I would think a deal like making a different game and then KI after could be a possibility. Maybe even MS buying a different fighting game IP? Iron Galaxy developed the last Darkstalkers for example, just sayin’
