And its the same people who Nintendo could literally shit in their mouth and they would thank them for it.
Or PlayStation, or Apple.
I really do wonder what stage capitalism is ādiehard fanboys acting like a cult over companies that see them purely as profitable simpletonsā
Yet they cancelled Twisted Metal, Bend new game, and Bluepoint new game. We are supposed to act like this news is unheard of.
I never even really think about my Xbox. It just sits in the corner and I have a standard gamepass sub at 12.99 euros a month I never think about either. Itās just there and keeps me entertained in the evening. No biggie.
But on days like today when my feed on social media and elsewhere lights up with everyone screaming their venom at Xbox, I sort of feel compelled to login here and say hey wait a minute, I actually have fun on this system and itās a good deal for me.
While I definitely feel bad for anyone losing their jobs, the game cancellations kinda make sense to me.
Everwild feels like an idea thatās forever been in search of a game, while Zenimax Onlineās MMO youād have to ask what IP it was.
Theyāve already got ESO and thereās Fallout 76, so was it a different existing IP (so might work) or a new IP which is really risky and prone to failure in such a crowded market.
Perfect Dark Iāll be gutted if itās cancelled as I loved the look of it and enjoy the games, but it has been a long development and sometimes it does need a step back to say āweāre still X years of effort from finishing, are we too emotionally invested and should we admit itād be less effort to begin from scratch with a fresh start and a new ideaā - it sucks but sometimes the hardest decision is the right one
Schreier is doing his rounds, talking about employees getting locked gravy out of their slacks.
Kotaku is reporting layoff at Undead Labs.
Blizzard QA was told to work from home.
Alex Donaldson from rpg site is hinting at PD being cancelled as well. Him along Natethehate saying that the genral atitude is just I give up at studios. Whatever that gravy means.

Schreier is gravy looking into the PD cancellation rumors. Jez is trying to confirm it, but he thinks itās csncelled.
You also have to look at Microsoftās entire portfolio. For example, do you really need another MMO/live service game when you own ESO, Fallout 76, WOW, Call of Duty, Overwatch, Minecraft, etc.?
I hate saying this, but you could apply the same logic to Perfect Dark as well. Microsoft owns Call of Duty, Halo, Outer Worlds, Doom, Starfield, Fallout, Clockwork Revolution, Wolfenstein, etc. that all fit in that FPS/Sci-Fi/RPG category to some extent.
I think for Everwild, itās been in development for so long, it just doesnāt make any sense to continue.
If Microsoft cancels Perfect Dark, I think I will probably just switch to PS6 next gen.
I wonāt because I should still be able to play PS6 and 5 games on Xbox from steam. But itās likely gravy that will find some other way to give less money to Microsofts other businesses, like not using outlook for other all email related stuff.
Insider Gaming gravy reporting CoD studios are getting layoffs.
Schreier gravy reporting Turn 10 lost nearly half of their staff.
I did enjoy my time with Forza Motorsport and I fondly remember the old Xbox racing games like PGR and early Forza.
But unfortunately itās been eclipsed in popularity by Forza Horizon (which yes is more arcade) and in terms of sims you can get even more hardcore ones from some smaller devs, like Assetto Corsa.
Theyāre kind of squeezed in the market at both ends, which has moved on a lot since 7 - and given I canāt see how you could improve much on Motorsport (for what it is) until a major technology leap I can understand keeping a smaller team to just enhance and add stuff to it - rather than building another sequel.
Itās a shame as TOCA, PGR, GT, F1 and then Forza with the rewind mechanism have all been games Iāve loved - but I have to admit Iāve put 10 times as much playtime into Forza Horizon games in the last decade as all of them put together.
Just really feel for the devs though - not their fault in any way, and youād have hoped they could have moved some over to Playground to help with FH6 instead given they built the original engine tech
Itās not like they are gone, but see it as not necessary to have that many resources. But yes, time has changed when a new champ appears, though oddly it came from its own.
Blade cancelled supposedly. Looking for better source.
Licence costing too much relative to expected sales maybe? Seems an odd one otherwise
Canāt imagine that internal thinking that Motorsport didnāt have a market on Playstation due to GT with the new third party push did Turn 10 any favors.
person that posted Blade was cancelled has retracted his statement. Not cancelled as of now.
I just canāt right now⦠thatās a shit show. If all is true, Iāve never been so disappointed by Xbox.
