ABOUT

Developed by Team NINJA, the studio behind the popular Nioh series – which has already sold more than 7 million units worldwide – Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s original story takes place during the Later Han Dynasty and features a Three Kingdoms overwhelmed by chaos and destruction. With an imperial dynasty on the verge of collapse, it’s up to a nameless militia solder to battle through adversity while fighting for survival in the turbulence of a land plagued by demons and overrun by some of history’s most powerful and intimidating warriors, including Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and Sun Jian. To overcome the odds, players will need to awaken their inner strength by mastering the fluid swordplay of the Chinese martial arts, cast Wizardry spells based on the Five Phases (elements), and even summon Divine Beasts as they attempt to unravel the conspiracy surrounding a mysterious and powerful elixir.

In addition to a series of free updates, a selection of upcoming DLC packs will be available to purchase in the coming months. The “Battle of Zhongyuan” DLC pack is scheduled to hit in June, with two more special DLC packs ready to follow.

So at minimum 2.8 million people played this game on Gamepass or MS owned platforms, not counting copies sold direct to customers, is that right?

Yeah, sounds about right. Great news for Koei Tecmo.

Yes. Game Pass is the only way to play without purchase a copy.

I’d like to see the completion rate of this game.

I mean I can play Souls like games, whether it’s Elden Ring, any of the Dark Souls games, Bloodborne or even Nioh. But Wo Long was just… crazy difficult for me. Like a classic Ninja Gaiden title designed to destroy my self respect as an experienced gamer.

It was way, way too hard. I tried via Game Pass but bounced off pretty quickly after getting destroyed in the opening areas.

This is the Xbox achievement for beating the game

This is the one for getting all other achievements

I had an opposite experience lol. I 1000G’d it in under a week and found it a lot easier than the Nioh games. It’s definitely not meant to be played like a Souls game.

There’s zero consistency with game difficulty for me. I’m finding RE4 Remake borderline too easy in hardcore mode in my first playthrough (it’s very forgiving & I haven’t even been particularly careful with my weapon upgrades either, I just focus on the knife & Red 9). RE Village meanwhile was a nightmare on hardcore, specifically the werewolves which auto dodged my bullets & wrecked me. Bloodborne is very, very manageable if the player is methodical & uses the AI summoning bells for boss fights. Nioh is also quite methodical & rewards careful gameplay.

But then there’s games which people say are fine which absolute destroy me, like Wo Long. It doesn’t have a difficulty setting so that at least makes it a simple ‘get gud’ type of proposition but there’s other games with difficulty settings in which I have literally no idea which difficulty to pick.

I actually have a much easier time with this game than Elden Ring, defeating a lot of the bosses on my first attempt. You might wanna try playing in coop, the few stages I did play in coop were super easy.

If you can get past Zhiang Liang , the rest of the game is easy in comparison. I have to get back to it myself. I was just up to Lu Bu when RE4 Remake dropped.

I loved the game from start to finish. Got the full 1000gs and i m probably gonna buy the dlc too. Ms should do more with team ninja imo.

Played it for 30 minutes, didn’t really like it, these Soul/Nioh type games aren’t for me, I’ve tried every one and they never click

7% is crazy good for a difficult game that anyone can try.

Took my about 40 hours I think to finish. First 10 hours were super fun, last 30 were basically the first 10 in different maps.
