Itâs the closest we have to what was UserVoice (where you could submit and vote for suggestions).
Going by the title I wasnât expecting this topic to be about marketing but yeah itâs obvious that they have a lot of work to do in Europe and Asia, I think even in the US although I think they do a much better job here and they are popular enough to where they donât need to try as hard but they did a good job with Halo Infinite here but they always market Halo well really from what Iâve seen over the years but canât say the same for every game, for example I donât remember ever seeing a single ad for Psychonauts 2 online or on TV.
Forza Horizon 5 had some nice ads that I saw online but Playground is so good at showcasing their games that it generates a lot of talk on itâs own and creates a lot of good word of mouth, hell I had co-workers who didnât have an Xbox buy one back in 2018 for FH4, they just know how to market their games, for example the Forza Horizon 5 YouTube videos from last year have way more views than Halo Infiniteâs, itâs one of the reasons why Iâm so happy Fable is in their hands, Iâve no doubt that they will create a beautiful world and that they will know how to get people interested from the get go! I think they are currently Xboxâs best studio.
When it comes to games I think they need to improve on 3rd person single player games, Hellblade 2 is a very good start and also brining back Fable, we also have Gears and Iâm sure Compulsionâs new IP will also be 3rd person, same for stuff like Contraband and State of decay 3 but thereâs room to improve here too, maybe we need something like Uncharted? Tomb Raider anyone? Or Indiana Jones perhaps
Anyway about the console sales talks from the start of this thread, I have no idea what sales will look like for both the PS5 and S/X in the end, if someone wouldâve asked me 3 years ago I probably would have said that a similar scenario to last gen with the PS5 outselling the Xbox 2 to 1 but that was before the 299$ Series S happened and before the whole Bethesda and Activision craziness so I feel very confident in saying that it wonât be anything like last gen, I just donât see it happening with all the studios Xbox now has.
I mean I donât think that I have to write down all the studios Xbox now has and all the exclusives it will have not long from now, I never wouldâve guessed that Starfield, Bethesdaâs big new IP would have been an Xbox exclusive and thereâs also the possibility of even a COD exclusive this generation, imagine Xbox gets both ES6 and a COD game exclusive in 2026? That would be wild⌠So yeah I donât think Xbox will outsell the PS5 bar something unpredictable like COD becoming exclusive next year lol but I think sales wonât be as one sided as last gen, Xbox wonât be lacking in 1st party content 3 years in like the Xbox One was, this will be by far Xboxâs best generation compared to the previous ones and Iâm very confident about it.

Nah, itâs because Xbox YT channel is badly handled, objectively. I still donât know if itâs a conscious choice or itâs understaffed/budgeted.
I wouldnât go that far, Theyâve usually put up videos of any new game announcement. I didnât know SoulHakers trailer was on the SONY channel. I care more about having Atlus back on the Xbox
I have both Xbox and PS channels on my feed and I can guarantee you that Xbox 9/10 times uploads trailers for the same games hours or even days after. The rare instances they do it concurrently or even before PS, the engagement is similar or even superior, so itâs a matter of facts (and itâs not like Sony has some special rights to upload them before, they simply do it better). The thread is about where Xbox should improve and YT is certainly one thing. People here often say Xbox doesnât do anymore traditional marketing and has shifted more towards digital and internet marketingâŚthey are still worse than competition even there, by far.
Iâm with both too, not that I care that much for a game trailer. I do agree that Xbox needs to do better in PR. SONY are much better with their state of play events and much better at showing games being played and what system the captured footage is running on
I find it a little depressing that weâre having plenty of uploads of GT7 and Xbox doesnât at all fire back with anything of Forza. Itâs been 5 years and they must have something to show. Xbox needs to be more like SEGA VS Nintendo in the old days. If Nintendo showed off a new gun, SEGA would answer back, when Nintendo was showing off an FX chip, SEGA answered back.
Right now two things for meâŚ
Have more than just one show in a year. I donât count Gamescom or anything because those are nothing. E3 is the only Xbox show that counts, that could change if XO comes back but what Iâd really like to see is these Direct type of shows but then from Xbox. Sony with not nearly as many studios and games now, but they do have shows way more often, apparently in March another one.
Iâm sure their show will contain timed exclusives and something from their own studios too. They give their fans things to look forward to, even if it may still be far away, or not. And they got a good amount of games too with Sifu, HFW, GT7 and GT.
Xbox has As Dusk Falls coming up, radio silence, what about Warhammer Dark Tide? Isnât that supposed to release before E3?

More games throughout the year. They have done this before, we had Crackdown earlier in that year and iirc Recore too. Itâs now just a matter of when XGS can really start releasing their games steadily and then thereâs no way, no reason NOT to drop a big game Q1 and/or Q2 of the year.
Do they though? I think the common complaint during summer-autumn period was that Playstation had no shows Also potentially Microsoft will have Blizzcon that happens in winter right?
Though it would be nice to have something like Microsoft Gaming Week - with shows from XGS, Bethesda, ATVI and whatever publisher Microsoft acquires next. But they also have QuakeCon, BlizzCon, MineCon too.
They just need some smaller shows more often.
Hnmm, point taken. I donât have a PS4 or 5 so I donât really pay much attention to it. I donât think I even watched their last stream, not the GT7 one but that SoP. I actually forgot that they didnât have much at the end of last year while Xbox had FH5 and Halo.
But a new stream so soon after some big releases is a smart move. We canât look at if XGS has stuff ready to show, but there will absolutely come a point where dedicated streams are needed for upcoming games. Look at Nintendo recently, brand new announcement for Xenoblade game and drops before the years end too.
Sony shows third party stuff in their streams but MS could too with As Dusk Falls and Dark Tide, the sequel to A Plague Tale as well. If thatâs all on schedule of course.

So I brought it up this morning with rumors flying around about a PlayStation Showcase in March with some big games attached to it.
Is it really so hard to do SOMETHING at this point show-wise for Xbox? Like Nintendo had a large Direct, PlayStation is having a large SoP/PlayStation Showcase, why the hell do WE have to wait until May/June/July Sumemr Time for a damn show?
At the very least show us something outside of the typical âE3â time frame.
Iâm not even asking for new game reveals, just how about an update on Redfall which is MIA and supposed to release soon, and As Dusk Falls which is rated and probably ready to go?
Xbox is really lacking in this department⌠They had momentum till December but then completely lacked it from January (ABK deal does helped though to make NEWS rounds) but Feburary they lost all the momentum
Xbox also lacks in Advertising Gamepass as well⌠They are spending 68 billion for its content but canât have a huge budget for its advertisement is shocking to me

February was a grind after the ABK regulatory clarification and subpar GamePass drops (not every month is gonna be great but geez at CrossFire).
