[quote=“Good Old Collingwood, post:2, topic:19582, username:Good_Old_Collingwood”] You should know that and if you dont know that you should ask someone else who does knows and that are my advice and suggrstion and recomendation to you.

… Not particularly helpful advice. I took a look at your history, not sure if you realize it, but we are a group of gaming enthusiasts and don’t actually work for or represent Xbox in any way.

We’ll know when they say something, but there really hasn’t been any news. If you hear a rumor it’s just that at the moment. Regardless, there’s a topic for halo discussion, that might be a good place to see what people are thinking rather than creating a new thread.

It’s been nearly 3 years. One would have hoped 343 would have something to show for the next single-player campaign.

Hopefully in the 2025 summer showcase we get to see what the team been working on

2026 for a Halo CE remake to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series alongside the next xbox/handheld also launching in 26 is my guess

The thing is that no one knows when it’s coming out.

My guess is 2026 or 2027 on the next gen Xbox assuming they’ve been working on it for at least 2 years now, apparently they moved on to Unreal Engine, not gonna lie, a bit concerned about that, I feel like UE5 hasn’t lived up to the expectations and I’m not sure how it would handle a Halo game, especially assuming that after Infinite they won’t make another linear campaign, or at least I don’t think they should, I think they need to go in a similar direction to Halo CE and Infinite, a mix between the two, vast non linear open levels, doesn’t have to be open world through and through although in my opinion open world can work perfectly in Halo if they do it right.

For example, think the scarab battles from Halo 3, now imagine that on steroids in an open world, sadly 343i just wasn’t creative enough, not an attack on them because I know there’s new leadership and many new devs there now but the previous people just weren’t good enough and wasted the amazing potential of Halo.

Hopefully the future is bright, Halo can be so amazing if done right and I hope they finally get that “amazing” hit in the next game, they got so close with Infinite, it even scored a 86/87 metacritic score, another year of dev time and they probably reach that 90 all the Bungie Halos did, not saying scores are that important but it always helps to spread a positive narrative about games.

Looking forward to the future of the franchise.

My best guess is that the new Halo Main Game (Campaign) will be a launch game for the next Xbox console. (I am only interested into the campaigns, too old for multiplayer LOL)

I hope they have something ready for the launch of the next console, I’ll happily take a remake.

They tried hitting a console launch last time and it didn’t help. I think they’re in the “when it’s ready” mindset above all else, now.

They should have more than enough hitting in 2026/whenever they are releasing a new console that even if Halo isn’t ready for launch its no big deal

Series X/S issue (if you can call it that since it sold fine anyway) wasn’t the Halo delay, its that the only first party thing they had ready for launch was Gears tactics which doesn’t exactly have wide appeal, it was also a port of a game that was already out

With how many studios they have now and how many games in dev now, they should have more than enough games dropping in 26/7/8 that Halo can drop when it’s ready, whether that’s a console launch or not

Any competent company would have been preparing for this for at least a few years now, Halo Infinite wasn’t even supposed to be a launch title for the Series consoles originally, I think if they planned for it that they should be able to have something for Halo’s 25th anniversary.

Competent planning and the complexity of game development don’t necessarily go hand in hand, especially when the studio is making so many changes. I am sure they are planning for the 25th anniversary and if things go well it’ll release then, but if the game is better off with more time then we all learned that lesson with Infinite.

Tell that to Nintendo. I reckon the reason why the Switch 2 has been delayed is so that they can be some imposing console selling software at launch.
