Great Video. Really well said. Wish more people would see this.
My own view on Xbox is that it’s never had great In-House exclusives anyhow. I’m not a massive Halo fan and don’t like open-world racers like Horizon SONY and Nintendo has done it far better over the years.
Xbox for me was the best console to play games on thanks to having a belief in online gaming and pushing the envelope for console GPU tech.
Overlooking the misstep of the One GPU that’s been the case and I hope that will be true for the next Xbox console. Go all out for a incredible GPU and a big focus on online features
Please don’t shot me down that is my own take and why I’ve always gammed on Xbox consoles
The versatility of the Xbox ecosystem between different devices is its biggest strength. Play Anywhere is one of the main reasons why I still prefer to buy Xbox versions of multi-plat games. However, the lack of exclusives is what might still push me away in the long run. That’s especially true if next-gen consoles should cost a lot, I might only pick up the one that gives me the most content then. But I‘m not sure yet.
My main gripe about it our ecosystem can’t fully travel across devices. If they can find a way to get xbox emulation working on multiple devices then we would be in a very good spot.
They would have to find a solution for that before bringing in other store fronts. I do think this new campaign looks to push PlayAnyWhere which would be a good solution for that as more developers and publishers adopt it.
the moment you put an emulator out there you will be hacked
No clue how that would work, but would be nice if they found a way to allow our entire xbox library to work across multiple devices.
I think you can expect them to solve that on their dedicated devices, or at least that’s my hope. As in, on whatever hardware comes next from Xbox, You can play your old OG/360/One and Series purchases. Only the steps going forward mean that it’ll be how they do cross buy/purchase next and going forward that interests me.
Wouldn’t Play Any Where be the solution for now. I would think if they can get publishers on board that would be the best solution for now.
