What features would you like Xbox to improve?

More storage to upload capture. More themes Ability to decrease the size of the tiles

The reasons for this are well known and quite well documented google can help you there.

Essentially the reason is that “This is function over form, with Microsoft opting to reduce the system footprint in terms of RAM allocation as much as possible, to give as much system resource as possible to game-makers.”

From EG review of series x.

Was also the same for 1x where the 1080 UI was retained in order to give devs an extra gig of ram to play with for games.

That reminds me, I want for them to get rid of reddit as the central community for insiders and bring uservoice back

I really don’t get the fuzz over a 4kUi. Its quite possibly the most useless complaint.

I agree completely. I spend 1000x more time playing games than navigating the UI. Make it pretty and clear, but 1080p is a good enough resolution for me. Series X|S are machines built for GAMES and games should take absolute priority over anything else in the platform. Reserving more memory for games is the correct decision here, in my opinion, particularly for the Series S.

And I do own a 4K OLED TV, I play far enough that I almost don’t notice the difference in resolution.

Like at no point have I ever thought that the ps5 ui looks any better than the xbox series ui because its 4k. I just wanna go and game.

Microsoft Rewards and Game Pass Quests being available on more countries. It looks like a really good way to save some money on the Xbox ecosystem. Unfortunately it isn’t available on my country.

This is a great one, I wish all you fine folks could benefit from this (and Bing Rebates)

Same here. :frowning:

Also a way to adjust the dead zones of the analogue sticks in the accessories menu would be a good addition and it should help with the stick drifting.

Here’s another one: bring back the ability to stream my console to my PC. For some reason, you could do this on Ones but you can’t with the Series consoles. I think there’s a workaround involving downloading an app through the Store’s backroom or something like that but ugh.

improve capture upload times, i barely use it on xbox because it takes ages to auto upload. it’s faster to just start a stream and then screencap twitch than it is to have a screenshot upload.

allow me to block certain games from being quick resumed. I play a few games where they always have stutter/etc when resumed. The worst is Rock Band 4, which being a music game is so sensitive to the console interrupting it and desyncing that having Smartglass enabled will cause your calibration to drift. Quick Resuming the game is basically like trying to play it with random inputs. But there’s a few others that always hitch up or have staticy audio when resumed.

One of my Series X controller triggers is starting to stick which is a bit annoying, it may be down to anti Covid hand gel, I’m not sure.

Has anyone else experienced this or got any tips about how to fix them?

After watching the Horizon Forbidden West gameplay reveal last night, I again have to say that Xbox really should start doing their own version of the Nintendo Direct/State of Play thing.

Once some of the Xbox first-party studio games are ready to show, I believe the Direct/State of Play formula is simply the best way to do it. Record a couple of the lead devs talking about the game as an introduction & then show 10-15 minutes of gameplay & cutscenes. Boom. Done.

Do shorter standalone ones for single games, or do longer ones if there are a couple of titles ready to show. It’s the perfect formula. It just works. It allows Xbox to get news about the games out into the world on a more regular cycle. Just do it & watch how hyped people get for all things Xbox

I had a squeaky PS4 trigger once which was a pain.

I don’t know if this helps but for that I used some graphite powder as I had some in my “Lampy” tool case and that did the job lovely, no mess and I could use a small brush to apply it everwhere.

You could mash up a pencil and do the same, and theres no oily residue. And if there is too much you can make an ice rink in your kitchen :stuck_out_tongue:

You just rubbed the Graphite into the trigger surround?

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. I had a pot that I used for moving lights. I just dipped a thin brush into it then used that to “paint” the powder in as far as I could. That was sufficient lubrication to stop the squeak.

If you use a hammer on some pencil lead to make that a powder maybe you could do the same around the outside to start, then maybe opening it up and inside into the gears and cogs of it if its still sticky.

The OS is great, the only thing I would like is for it to be native 4k, or at least 1440p

Is trimming clips broken for anyone else? Fuck me, I don’t know why this is generally so hard for Xbox to get right. Either it’s the HDR issue darkening clips or what have you. You can only grab a minute at 1080p and 30 seconds at 4k, too.

Whining here because the community thread maxed out. Xbox’s “report a problem” app and its tracing feature to reproduce the issue doesn’t even work. What a joke.

I’d like to see the digital store return to the Xbox app. It was amazing buying a game when I was not at home and then having it fully downloaded by the time I got home. I’m not sure why it was taken away, it was literally a vessel for them to take more money :joy:
