What are you currently playing?

Juggling between stuff I need to review, the new Amalur remaster, Hotshot Racing on Game Pass, and more. So hard to keep up with everything haha.

Really enjoying Neon Abyss at the moment.

Arkham Knight, and playing through Mario All Stars (currently on Mario 2 USA). Also a bit of Crusader Kings 3.

Ok, changing my answer. I’ve now been playing Spiritfarer for two straight days. So much for Control and Ghosts of Tsushima

Finished Yakuza Kiwami 2 today and was very disappointed overall by the story. Never really picked up and felt it dragged on.

Started Grounded with a friend. Initial thoughts are that it has lots of charm and more welcoming to play than other early access games.

For single player, currently chipping away at the new The Outer Worlds DLC. Hoping to have it finished by the end of the weekend!

Played a slew of games yesterday. Finally tried out Xenocrisis. Fun game that reminds me of a mix between Smash TV and Metal Slug. It’s very hard though, and I think everything moves too fast, especially projectiles.

I then tried out Hotshot Racing and while fun, it feels kinda “bleh”. The A.I. is annoying and the rubberbanding is real in that game. I think it’s designed for online play anyway.

Next I finally tried out Yooka-Laylee. I just recently finished New Super Lucky’s Tale so I had the itch for another fun 3D platformer. I know this was made by a bunch of ex Banjo devs and this definitely feels like a throw back to N64 platformers. I had fun for the brief bit i played and I definitely plan to keep going, but the game has some issues.

Finally, as a lover of “tactics” style games, I decided to give The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics a try. The story makes no sense but the tactics portion is decent. It’s basically bite sized battles that shouldn’t take you more than 15-20 minutes at a time. Overall it’s fun, but it just feels like a hollow experience and kept making me want to go play Shining Force.

Currently playing Wasteland 3. I never played a game in this series before and I wanted to give this one a shot since they’re a 1st party studio now.

Yesterday I finished up Tell Me Why and I wasn’t too impressed with where the story ended up going. Those aren’t my types of games, though.

The remake of the first Mafia. It’s gorgeous, frankly, and the story still holds up.

I played the original on PC a year or so after it came out (£2.95 from a WH Smith bargain bin; never could get their stickers off things properly) and it’s one of those games whose feel and images have stayed with me. I went to the new one with impressions of crossing the main suspension bridge to a city whose skyscrapers existed in a sort of milky mist until you were close to them then, so to see the glittering and fully realised metropolis it is now comes as something of a shock. They’ve put in the work and it shows

Only quibble is that some of the music is out of period, but then I’m a propellerhead regarding that sort of thing.

Same as you I’m playing Mafia too.

Great game for its price.

Τhanks for the impressions, I was worried about the state of the game after how the Mafia 2 remaster turned out. I really want to play this remake as I never played the original, planning to get it next month.

Back on topic I am playing Super Mario Galaxy (which is still amazing of course) on my Switch and Ηotshot Racing on my X, game is so much better at the expert difficulty level. Next week I am starting REmake 3 S rank Inferno attempts and Crash Bandicoot 4.

My son is home this week for wife’s birthday, so we’ve been playing Battletoads. Damn the game is just as hard as the original one was on NES. Should have tried EASY mode, and there isn’t a way to change it.

Need for Speed 2015😍

Via EA Play😉

Playing MAFIA remake. It looks great. Only a few chapters in but so far, so good.

Playing Final Fantasy VIII Remastered

Was hoping it would go into Game Pass like it said but it was half price on Xbox this week and I had £5 of free credit via the rewards program.

Just started but can’t wait to play through again!

Wasteland 3 and Marvel Avengers, mostly. Should probably wrap up The Touryst as I am pretty close to the end, but got bogged down trying to do a couple of the achievements.

Oh, and I got Paper Mario Origami, so I expect I’ll spend some time on that too.

I’m trying to go through as much stuff as possible before next gen hits cause at that point I’ll mostly want to try stuff that showcases next gen graphics.

Just finished Wasteland 3 and now going through Yakuza Kiwami 2 (already finished 0 and 1). Next I’ll probably try to finish Kingdom Hearts 3 and with work that might be all I’m able to do before November 10.

Ugh! I told myself that I’d finally start FF12, and I did. But, as always, I tend to go back to old reliable/comfortable games. Previously it would be a Bethesda game but it’s been all SoD2 for a while now. That, plus Elite Dangerous…

*edit In all seriousness, my backlog could most assuredly be a lot lower if I could just commit to one game and finish but “comfort” games always seem to grab me.

I’ve had a hard time playing/enjoying any FF games post 9.

I hear you. Honestly, after Lost Odyssey, they don’t “feel” right to me. To be fair, no Jrpg does with the possible exception of P4G on Vita and even that I couldn’t finish. But I do like the world of Ivalice so I want to give FF12 a shot.
