I’ve just got a SX after having a only SS for 3 years.
First thing I use to marvel at the 4k graphics was: the Big Con
Then, I tried hellblade 2 but, since I have not played it on SS, I couldn’t tell how much better is.
Afterwards, I tried Outlaws and the difference is night and day.
As for, what I’m curently playing: Outlaws and the Big Con.
Finished Chicken Police - Paint it RED. Its a film noir visual novel with a bit of point&click and detective work. But it has a twist - you play as a chicken
The story is very much a best of tropes for the genre and if you pay a bit attention you know the conclusion halfway through. Other than that writing and dialog are pretty great and leans totally into it. I enjoyed my time even if some furry bits are overdone.
Also finished Down in Bermuda. Its a puzzle game where you have to solve simple riddles and collect hidden orbs on some islands to escape from, you guessed it, Bermuda. This could have been a nice palette cleanser but the controls on console are rather horrible. Would have switched to PC but it has no Play Anywhere functionality. Avoid.
Completed the story campaign for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 on easy difficulty in approximately 12 hours.
Visuals - 10/10 (superb)
Audio - 8.5/10 (great)
Gameplay/Combat - 9.0/10 (excellent)
Story/Characters - 8.5/10 (great)
Overall - 9.0/10 (excellent)
Game looks outstanding and seeing the war play out throughout the game just adds to the visual spectacle. Music is really good as is the voice acting and sound effects. Combat/gameplay has a simple but satisfying loop to it. Good boss fights with the finale being really good. Story and characters were all great, enjoyable and kept me interested from start to finish. A pure action packed third person melee/shooter. Will wait for the first season of free content in October to get released before playing through the Operations Mode as they’re adding one or two new maps to it.
Saber Interactive may do paid DLC/expansion as there is more to the story and characters based on the ending but if not, they’ll go straight to Space Marine 3. Not sure how long this game took to make from start to finish but if it’s around the 3 year or so mark, then I would prefer them to go straight to the next main line game but we’ll see what they do.
I was about to remove Jusant from my gamepass backlog, then decided to fire it up friday morning. Spent the day on it and loved it. Very relaxing but engaging all the way.
Completed Shattered Space late last night. Did a few side quests and finished the main story. Really enjoyed it for the most part. The final story mission definitely took me a while to get through. Great 8.5/10 overall and I look forward to seeing what the next expansion is.
Just finished the Shattered Space main mission, loved it of course. It really made me hate certain characters and the shit situation that the people of Darza are in.
Well, I definitely have some different decisions to make in future playthroughs. Now I’m going to run around looking for side quest and talking to people.
Started a Call of Duty campaign binge. Starting with -
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. About halfway through. Best campaign since Infinite Warfare in my opinion. Looks great, very satisfying to play. Good story and great locations.
Once I complete BOCW, Vanguard is up next followed by Modern Warfare II (2019) as I get ready for the Black Ops 6 campaign.
Well, completed the Black Ops Cold War campaign and man, it was really good. Didn’t like the “good” ending but I understand why it goes the way that it does. The two side operations were short but solid with all the intel acquired that was needed.
Visuals - 9.0/10 (excellent)
Audio - 8.5/10 (great)
Combat/Gameplay - 8.5/10 (great)
Story/Characters - 8.0/10 (great)
Overall - 8.5/10 (great)
Will start Vanguard campaign tomorrow or I may wait until Friday as I have work Wednesday and Thursday.
Finally finished Visions of Mana and got that 1000 Achievement Points, which is something I very rarely do but I just had so much fun with this game and it all seemed achievable to me even with the very few hours a week of game time I have so I went for it and finally did it late last night.
While there is some Mana love in Gamepass right now I definitely recommend Visions of Mana if you have some spare cash; it’s a great addition to the Mana franchise. The story can be average at times but the art style and music is very reminiscent of the older games and while not developed in-house by SE, the devs did a good job at capturing the Mana essence and expanding the gameplay elements to keep it fresh.
I can now finally go straight to Shattered Space to be ready for COD in a few weeks as well as STALKERS 2 and Indy before the end of the year!
With all achievements I’m at 51 hours but I wasn’t the fastest at it and there’s probably a bit of idle time in there. I only used guides near the end when I was trying to finish the last few items I missed.
But 45-5 hours is probably a good guess for a completionist I’d say. If you only go after the main story and skip a lot of the exploration and side quests you could be done a lot faster than that.
Rushed through The Callisto Protocol as I had heard it wasn’t very long. The game looks quite good from a graphical standpoint, but it’s very lacking in terms of gameplay and its very, very repetitive and the story is average at best. Now I understand why it got such low reviews!
At least I got another 500 achievements out of it!
