i watched their live concert yesterday on Youtube and it was awesome. Her voice is a good fit.

Same here, she’s got a fantastic voice!
I will need to rewatch, however I think her voice maybe complements the more recent LP tracks as the earlier LP may have parts which drown out her voice a little (need to hear more).
I suspect the band just wanted to go in a different direction as it would have felt like they were replacing Chester if they went for a male vocalist, plus everyone would have made direct comparisons.
Many in the LP community were expecting Bobby Amaru (Saliva lead vocalist) to join LP instead. He has been posting LP covers for a while and did a cover of Faint with his daughter and Mike Shinoda:

Might still happen going by what popped up in my Twitter feed about her. Seems she has a bit of a controversial past as a hardcore Scientologist and led the Danny Masterson apologists during his rape trial.
That can’t have escaped all the band members though, surely?!
