It’s being a weird 2-3 weeks lately, I’ve been listening to shoegaze (My Bloody Valentine, Ride and Catherine Wheel mostly) and Deftones…I guess considering that there is a shoegaze influence on various Deftones songs it isn’t THAT weird. I also listened to Rumskib that @Hearthian recommended and it’s a pretty cool band/album, they indeed sound like a mix of Cocteau Twins and My Bloody Valentine! thanks for the recommendation my friend!
Also Deftones is a great band, listening to White Pony in 2024 and it’s still as amazing it was back in 2000. It’s also really cool that they maintained a consistent level of high quality with their albums throughout the years. Shoegaze will have to wait, I’ll post some awesome Deftones songs instead.
This is super heavy, and may not be to everyone’s tastes, but you should definitely watch the video.
Missed this when it was released last year, another fantastic album from Chelsea. Dusk is my favorite track.
Listening to a lot of stp lately. This is probably my favourite album by them, though Purple would be close.
My favourite track is either Plush, or Dead And Bloated
I’m more of an Electric Callboy fan, but their new team-up with Babymetal is a fun and appropriate colaboration…
Heading down to London at 6:30am to watch Leeds in the playoff final. Crate of beers in tow for the journey
The coach will be rowdy with songs like this
Yet again Leeds let me down when it matters long drive home from London back to Leeds now
I’ve listened to a lot of stuff since I last shared some music but over the weekend I mostly listened to Nubya Garcia, whose fans dubbed her Queen of the sax!
She has a lot of good music and is featured in a lot of songs so i’ll try to resist posting more than 3 or 4.
There’s probably more popular songs I could’ve posted for the last one but this album by Nala Sinephro is great if you don’t mind Ambient Jazz with a cosmic flavor (It has a bit of a retro futurism vibe at times with the synth being used). There’s sax playing throughout the album but this song is the only one that features Nubya. It starts slow but gets pretty cathartic.
One of Nubya’s keyboardists is Joe Armon-Jones whose has some pretty good music too. I’ll have to post some of his stuff sometime.
