anyway aside from games, if Sony managed to release Spartacus in more countries than GP. then MS needs to act quickly
If they get Elden Ring or Dying Light 2 I wouldnât say GP gets the same kinda thing, from first-party? yes, from third? not even close.
You talking about Destruction All-Stars? Or was there something actually good?
they arenât getting elden ring or dying light 2 day one because spartacus or whatever wonât even be a thing when those games are released lol.
It didnât even take off and it was free. They probably hoped for Fall Guys explosion on popularity. I know we can talk about quality being the reason, but if the commitment was there, maybe it could have gotten SoT boost. Oh well.
Sure, fair enough it was just an hypothetical thought, still works for when it releases and gets big games like those day-one.
Trying to explain why a thing might not be happening is not the same as not wanting the thing to happen. I think some of you get confused by this.
Until Phil Spencer or Matt Booty come out and lay bare all the details of what theyâve tried to get and/or are trying to get and overall what their strategy is, Iâm just going to shrug my shoulders.
Weâre waiting Phil we want full details
lol there are multiple bandai namco games on gamepass, yet in some of yaâllâs heads MS never thought to discuss perhaps bringing Elden Ring or whatever next big souls game to service day one.
Youâre right putting a ton of games on one side equals one Elden Ring.
If this does happen then Game Pass is going to face tough competition, but I donât believe it works that way. Sure, Sony compared to MS can get things done a little more easily because of their position but I donât think they can just come with their own Game Pass and have big day one third party releases on it.
Not when Iâm sure MS has visited these companies or and made some great offers too in terms of some real nice cash. Even though according to Booty it isnât always a money matter perse. But say it does happen, I wonder what else MS can do to improve this. Theyâll still have their own exclusives dropping on it day and date, but this is one area I hope them see improve a lot in.
Iâm not surprised thereâs a perceived drought - most of these heavy hitters that could potentially launch on GP will still want as many pre-order sales as possible, so announcements of such a nature are made closer to the time.
As for Spartacus, itâs a nothing burger. Their tier three is allegedly PS Plus as it is now, a few more PS4 games and the objectively shit streaming of a bevvy of older gen titles which should be available via BC but Sony want people to subscribe so they can play games they already own.
And thatâs just it with PlayStation copying, and playing catch-up with, Xbox - they arenât set up for this business model, so any attempt to mimic it will be half assed and ultimately disappointing. Xbox has been organically shifting to focus on GP for years, Sony are rebranding PS Plus/Now and hoping people think itâs the same thing.
We know nothing about Spartacus to be making claims from either side and none of that impedes xbox from making day 1 GP deals.
The fact we know it exists and is codenamed Spartacus proves you wrong. Unless you want to say Schreier is off on this.
Yeah we know the code name and what is supposedly entails but things are not official until they are.
Sure, but I see no reason to doubt the source. Things can change, but changes are unlikely to be âputting first party games day in date on the serviceâ levels, which is arguably GPs strongest draw.
Its not just First Party. If Spartacus somehow comes and debuts with an Elden Ring tomorrow its a tremendous blow.
I will be taking a break from the forum for a month if that happens this place would need a new server upgrade to keep up with the comments
