In a news release by developer Player First Games, the party fighter featuring many a familiar Warner Bros. character is set to go offline on the 25th of June 2023. This will allow the team to prepare for the game’s full release from it’s current open beta state, which is currently targeting an early 2024 release. Players who have downloaded the game will still be able to have limited access to offline modes such as the training mode, local matches, and any characters and cosmetics you currently have.

This news comes in the wake of players expressing frustration due to a lack of content updates the game has received over the last couple of months. More information can be found on the news release here. You can also have a gander at the FAQ sheet the studio has prepped below.

MultiVersus is a good game, I hope it comes back strong. Honestly I expected WB to just kill the game (they still might). Cautiously optimistic.

It’s good, but they have dropped the ball hard. Content should have been flowing by now. We’ve got a few battle passes and it was clear that content wasn’t there. People don’t want to unlock icons or custom backgrounds, but new skins and characters. These games are unstainable because if you want it to work, devs have to pour a lot of new stuff in and not drip feed the player.
