For the first time ever the Mana series is coming to Xbox. The new game in the series – Visions of Mana – is releasing on Xbox Series X|S this summer.

This was announced at the Developer_Direct today. In a surprise announcement, as it was the only game people didn’t know about being shown, Square Enix showed the gameplay of the newest addition to the series. And this isn’t a small announcement, as it’s the first mainline addition to the series in over 15 years.

The Mana series started back in 1991 as a sidestory for Final Fantasy. But, in the past 32 years the game has turned into a staple of the Square Enix portfolio.

Haven’t watched, but very surprised they’re bring in 3rd party. If so they need to do at least three DDs per year.

I had a small tugging feeling that MS would bring something JP related again because I feel their strategy is to constantly push that at every show, I was just confused on how that would actually happen without Tango this time. So the “solution” was to let “guests” star in the Directs.

When they started talking about secret and trials I thought we would see those drop this spring.

Hoping that still happens. They’d be great Game Pass additions this Spring before release.

These shows are way too time and money intensive to do three times a year.
