Publisher SQUARE ENIX announced at The Game Awards that their latest action role-playing game ‘Visions of Mana’ will launch on PC, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox Series consoles in 2024. A new instalment in the Final Fantasy spinoff series in well over 15 years, players will go on a new adventure with protagonist Val, a soul guard assigned to protect his childhood friend, who has been chosen by the Faerie as the Alm of Fire to travel to the Tree of Mana and rejuvenate the mana flow.

Since the series’ debut in 1991 as FINAL FANTASY ADVENTURE, a spin-off of the FINAL FANTASY series, Mana games have immersed players in bright vibrant worlds, breathtaking environments, heartwarming characters and high fantasy storylines across many genres and platforms. Fans of the series can expect new designs of the series’ beloved creatures from Mana series Illustrator Airi Yoshioka and a new captivating musical score composed by Mana series composers Hiroki Kikuta, Tsuyoshi Sekito and Ryo Yamazaki.

“I am delighted to finally be able to reveal Visions of Mana, the first mainline instalment to Mana series in over fifteen years. The development team have been working hard to ensure that Visions of Mana remains faithful to the series that players know and love while also offering fans and newcomers a fresh new experience with an all-new story, characters, and gameplay mechanics. We cannot wait to share more details about the game with you soon.

Mana Series Producer, Masaru Oyamada.

As a HUGE Secret of Mana fan (and adult, now, with diminishing game time) I am very excited for this to come to Xbox!

Fingers crossed for the previous Mana collections and remakes to come as well!

Right there with you on the prior mana games coming, just crossing my fingers and hoping Xbox pays them to bring them over with a gamepass deal (if not I’ll happily buy them but feel square will need incentive to go that far back)

The first Mana game I ever completed was the Trials of Mana 2020 remake and I really enjoyed that game so Visions of Mana is day one for me. Looks great and im looking forward to playing it!!

Same, same. I poured so many hours into Secret of Mana on SNES back in the day!

Hopefully remakes and Collection of Mana can make their way to Xbox as well.

Collection of Mana is permanently Switch exclusive because it was made with source code that Square lost but Nintendo had in their “vault”.

I would say if ports are coming it will be Trails of Mana Remake and Legend of Mana. (Secret of Mana Remake wasn’t even ported to Switch)

The only Mana game I’ve played was Secret of Mana on SNES. Never had the platforms for the rest. I do, now, have the Switch remake of Trials ond the Collection. Haven’t gotten to them yet. :pensive:

I still listen to the Secret of Mana soundtrack, though. I would LOVE modern updates like many of the final fantasy tracks have gotten.

I do love me some epic game and movie soundtracks.

Still really happy about this. Unrelated: also really happy that ININ ported Pocky & Rocky to Xbox!

From what I’ve read it seems like Nintendo may have just provided them with the roms and there may not be an actual exclusivity agreement but more just, "they did us a solid and sales likely won’t amount to much so we might as well just keep it exclusive. I also don’t care as much about the collection; it seems like the remakes are at worst basically the same game and in some cases an improvement.

Loving the art
