Seeing a good amount of Back 4 Blood Game Pass ads (at least on Internet, didn’t watch Youtube or TV). Good to see.
I haven’t seen anything yet, but the third parties are usually better so it should show up somewhere. Far Cry 6 has been pretty visible.
Xbox Series consoles have hit 100K in japan.
They are selling like x4 compared to X1, which is great considering they have no exclusive content for the region and big holes in the 3rd party line-up, it’s the difference between total abadonement vs basic marketing and GP allure. XD
I think last week and this week made it pretty clear that niche Japanese devs like Falcom and Atlus cannot just keep doing unpaid PS exclusives. Falcom’s newest entry in their Trails series had it’s worst ever launch last week and now it’s plummeted out of the top 10, as Switch sales soar thanks to OLED. If Persona 6 chooses to be a PS exclusive it will easily be the worst opening for a Persona game in Japan.
I don’t get if they are intentionally obtuse or if the cultural divide is really big for some companies to the point they don’t trust MS, it’s really unfathomable.
Context for Falcom since Im a big fan
Those sales dont report digital which a lot of the market is shifting too and the previous entry Hajimari had a great bulk in that, its like the 12th game in a long running series and a GREAT portion of Falcom sales are coming from the west for the past 3-4 years now.
Has nothing to do with just being Playstation only by default.
It’s still obtuse not even trying with Xbox, expecially when you try with Stadia, lmao.
Falcom doesnt handle anything in the west. Thats NISA which is handling all those projects since Ys 8.
NA and western EU: better than the usual NA only, but it’s still far from “global”.
We’re working to bring the Xbox Mini Fridge to as many fans as possible and will continue to expand regional availability in 2022, pending regulatory approvals and restrictions by market.
They are making a mini fridge. Do you know how much work that alone entails for a tech company let alone producing it for a global market - its not exactly in Microsoft’s wheelhouse - they won’t have production and distrubution channels for this so it will be a huge effort. Not sure I really want them focussing on that to be honest.
Aw ffs! Not available here… I was hyped for a minute. Same old shit
It’s only an example among countless others made here, MS is objectively badly geared for a global and cohesive Xbox marketing push.
I don’t know if this is the good place for this but another week for Xbox Series in Japan :
Switch OLED Model – 32,494 (170,903)
Switch – 30,869 (17,229,015)
PlayStation 5 – 16,580 (939,509)
Switch Lite – 9,581 (4,098,365)
Xbox Series S – 3,553 (41,860)
PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – 2,129 (180,103)
Xbox Series X – 634 (64,918)
PlayStation 4 – 613 (7,814,080)
New 2DS LL (including 2DS) – 373 (1,175,323)
If Xbox remain that strong in two more weeks Xbox Series will top Xbox One LTD
This is a perfect place for that.
This is awesome, curious do we have good x360 numbers for sales total and first year in Japan?
MS definitely should step up it’s advertising on TV in countries.
Here in the U.K. it’s definitely lacking especially when I think back to the 360 days. Whilst PlayStation has scaled as well. There is still a way bigger presence with TV adverts with the champions league.
When I think back to the gears of war advert that seemed like I saw it 2/3 times a day.
I understand there are now other mediums to advertise now, but for me TV is the best way of explaining to a casual what game pass is. A simple trailer of halo or a 3rd party title for example Outriders etc and a statement play free with game pass on Xbox series X/S
Or even an advert explaining game pass 100 game library for £10 a month. Especially this time of year for Christmas, Parents need to know. If their kid is asking for a PS5 and then they see the value for money with a Series S. It’ll sway them.
They’ve sponsored the England football team and I’m yet to see any marketing linking Xbox and England.
I’m pretty sure it’s outsourced product
Quick Google search tells me that lifetime sales of the 360 in Japan is ~ 800,000. At the current rate the Series X|S is selling, it may surpass the 360.
