According to reports from the Japanese Sankei Shimbun, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has stated in the online media press saying that the Nintendo Switch will be having a hard time to expand its sales with the speed and momentum it had in the past, which will become even more obvious in the future. But the company hopes to give the hardware demand a pull with the latest instalment of The Legend Of Zelda releasing on the 12th this month, to buffer the declining trend of Switch sales.” And regarding the next gen console, Furukawa stated that they are pushing onwards with new hardware development, but the details are yet to be disclosed.

In other words, Switch sales are slowing down, but there are hopes Tears of the Kingdom will give the Switch a filip, and no new news on a Switch successor.

I wonder if Zelda will be the last major Nintendo game for the Switch ?

Fitting that the Switch would start with Zelda and end with it.

It’s nice to see they removed the “niche” title about souls games. I’ve always thought it was somewhat weird when copies sold continued to increase after every entry

Why does Japan love Splatoon so much? 4 million seems like a lot

The series is just very in your face Japanese/Tokyo street culture. The fashion, the hip-hop idols, the music. It connects with people (kids especially) in a way it doesn’t quite in the West. Splatoon is popular worldwide but in Japan it’s one of the biggest franchises lol.

And at relatively full or close to full price which is important. Certain companies shoehorn 20m sales after its been on $10 greatest hits sale.

I dislike Splatoon a lot. Just can’t get into what it offers from both gameplay and style.

Xbox Series S and X has surpassed two million sales in the UK, chart company GfK has revealed.

The console achieved the feat in 128 weeks and has generated £696 million.

It is the eighth fastest-selling home console to reach this number, GfK says. It is one place ahead of Nintendo Switch, which reached two million sales in 140 weeks.

In terms of other Xbox consoles, Xbox One remains the fastest-selling Microsoft machine, hitting two million sales after 104 weeks. It’s worth noting that the Xbox Series S and X, in particular the X model, has suffered from significant stock issues caused by component shortages during the first two years on the market.

The Xbox 360 took 110 weeks to reach two million sales, while the original Xbox took 162 weeks.

The fastest-selling home console in UK history is Nintendo Wii, which reached two million sales after just 57 weeks – three weeks faster than PlayStation 2. However, by the end of that generation, Xbox 360 ended up out-selling Wii.

PlayStation 5 reached two million sales in October last year, becoming the fourth fastest-selling home console in history.

Hopefully they have supply sorted out when Starfield and other games launch. I know you can get series x directly from Microsoft store in some regions. However, I think most people don’t buy from that storefront and want to purchase from Amazon, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc.
