Tunic |OT| Zeldan Ring

The golden path puzzle is crazy. I spent a day trying to solve it myself but unfortunately I couldn’t see it, I used my phone and some pen and papers too, but I just looked at red herrings when the actual solution was more straightforward actually so I ended up looking it up lol, I really loved that interaction I had with the game though. Beat the Heir and finished, don’t think I’ll be looking for the rest of the secrets. Really awesome game but I feel like I would’ve appreciated more if I didn’t have multiple other games and things to take attention away from it. It feels like a game that you’d appreciate the most if you play it on your own pace its own for like 2 weeks alongside the help of a community looking for secrets and sharing your findings with them.

I wanted to follow up on @Cerysnetics point here and say that a good chunk of games could probably do without combat and still provide entertainment for those playing. I like being in a world, seeing the art, feeling the vibes. It’s the same way I am with puzzle type games. I can play something like Baba is You or Obra Dinn or Grim Fandango and walkthrough every puzzle and still love it. I’m more interested in seeing how things work, how a designer did such and such versus banging my head against a wall with a tough fight/puzzle.

I am someone who would genuinely pay for a sea of thieves server and just use it as an excuse to play completely alone relaxed, watching the undulation of the waves and the sunrise and sunset and escaping a storm. Half an hours peace on an evening with no stress just sounds wonderful. Its why i liked exploring alone in Elite or making deliveries in Death Stranding.

There are a myriad games one could play in such a way, the games which fans decry would be “ruined” by doing so are chief among them, coincidentally.

It shocks me that they don’t have PvE only servers.

Reminds me a bit of Sega Golvellius. That was rogue-like before the word existed.

Just got the 3rd key and woooof that was tough.

The MS gaming survey that I just filled out had a lot of questions around Souls type games, difficulty and accessibility so they are actively looking at the area that’s for sure.

Think I’ve done just about everything in the game aside from (presumably very late-game spoilers) figuring out the golden grid puzzle (just need to sit down and draw it out), the mountain door (which is presumably related), one manual page (which I expect is behind the door), one secret treasure (which I think is tied to the page I’m missing), and whatever the hell is going on with that big golden monument with the two grapple points above the dark tomb.

For those who have beaten it (please, no spoilers): It looks like there are two endings. Can you get both in one save file or will I have to start a fresh save? Guessing the second ending is about having a full manual/the golden grid, so I might just do the first ending now if that’s the case.

yes, you can get both endings on one save file. Once you get the first ending it gives you the option to continue the game from a previous save or go to new game+, even if you start new game+ as the old file will not be overwritten.

How hard is the combat?

There is an accessibility setting available so you wont die.
