i dont see reasons for bad press here? whats the angle?
You can look at earlier posts hereâŚ
You would be surprised by how creative some people can get lol.
Lack of comprehension on what this means and why it happened, mainly.
Good stuff. Didnât they tweet something about Spyro at the start of this year? I wonder if thatâs the game they are working on.
Oh I have zero doubt Twitter folk and the usual forums will find a way, not to mention YouTube videos. I hate to throw the bias word around, but when it comes to Xbox news, a lot is negative, look at when the layoffs happened. I saw it everywhere, but for Sony? Not nearly as much. Theyâll find a way. And we should just ignore it.
If they published by Xbox definitely gonna be on Game Pass too
They made a reference in the same post with âhornâ so time will tell.
News bulletin.
If your idea of xbox having family friendly content just means you want them to keep making the games from when you were a kid, you donât actually care about family friendly studios
Didnât see this coming but at the same time, im not at all surprised either.
On the positive side, better to go indie than possibly being shut down. Their current game in development definitely sounds like a new Spyro game. Have to wait and see how this all plays out.
I would say I blame CMA to prolong the inevitable (Yeah I said it), but if the path was still going to be this way, then yeah, make sense. At least the game will function like old days: no MTX, all unlockable by playing.
Thatâs one way to remove Toys for Bob from the â âUbisoft owns the cloud rights to all ABK titles for the next 15 yearsâ deal.
Toys for Bob can now work on new/existing Xbox IP without Xbox being forced to hand the cloud rights to Ubisoft.
Good for them! Iâm happy they were able to escape the CoD mines and I think this is the healthiest decision for them
I donât see the issue, they were stuck as a COD support team and would not be doing anything worthwhile for Xbox while doing so.
So they escape Activision and then work directly with MS,
Again you guys getting pissy about these types of things like it is some roster loss on a sports team REALLY need to come to grips with how the industry is right now.
T4B is not getting shut down, is no longer a COD support studio and will do what they want and will work closely with MS.
This is a win all around in my book.
Xbox is not just a piece of plastic under your TV, stop thinking of it like that, at some point that plastic box wonât exist no matter who the platform holder is and when that time comes Xbox will be setup very well for the future and your game library that you accumulated on an Xbox will go with you anywhere you want to play.
I can see Ubi being OK with that, not sure about CMA.
Good for them, now make a new Spyro or Crash game
Were.
ABK are now under new management.
Xbox could have moved them out of ABK entirely if they wanted to. There is no reason Xbox had to keep them in the COD mine.
I actually think this is a good thing contrary to the rest. I think many forget the CMA approval has all ABK games streaming ownership for the next 15years under Ubisoft. Meaning if these guys had done a Banjo game it would be multiplatform at least for streaming, this way they can work with Microsoft outside that regulator constraints. Who knows they can sign a contract like Asobo and if things work out cab be absorbed into XGS or Zenimax. Perhaps going indie could also help their creative juices. I donât think their games were where they needed to be. I would have loved to see them be like a Moon studio develop games like ORI hopefully they get to shine like that now.
Yes, but they still have to honor the regulatory regulations like any game made by or worked in part by ABK staff becomes an ABK game and streaming rights for 15 years thereby goes to Ubisoft. Itâs better that any titles be done outside ABK. In the end ABK is best with their own titles.
