The Xbox Series X|S guide: every optimized game, future releases, Game Pass and more!

The timed exclusivity has ended! (although I had to dig deep to find it).

No sign of the promised Ray Tracing on both consoles.

Minecraft Dungeons is now optimized for Series X/S.

https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360044268272-Minecraft-Dungeons-Patch-Notes

  • Xbox Series X supports up to 4K resolution and 120 FPS
  • Xbox Series S supports up to 1440p resolution and 60 FPS
  • These resolutions and frame rates are variable, and will lower while playing four player local co-op

Codemasters really outdid themselves. Dirt 5 is now a Play Anywhere and Cloud Enabled title, and also supports Dolby Atmos. And more: they shrinked the game’s file size from 74.50 GB to 60.60 GB.

That crazy. Did they fix this issue?

About mentioning a frame rate option that is not available on the video?

To be honest I never even realized that :stuck_out_tongue: But I believe there is a 120 Hz mode that only appears when you enable 120 Hz on the Series X, which is a option only available with supported TVs.

And I do believe both Image Quality and Resolution modes support different framerates. But yeah, it seems to be poorly worded!

Mortal Shell getting enhanced for Series S|X, free upgrade:

4K 60FPS on Series X, but 4K 30FPS on Series S, which is just weird… I don’t think that’s the point of the Series S.

Surprise optimization patch for Superhot: Mind Control Delete in celebration of the series’ 5th birthday!

We also just dropped a massive update to bring 4k 120 FPS support to Xbox Series X and 2k 120 FPS to Xbox Series S. That’s like almost a billion SUPERHOT pixels every second. It plays great and looks sharper and better than ever before.

Seems weird to not at least offer a 1080p 60fps version for Series S. I have a Series S because I don’t have a 4K TV.
