The Xbox Series X|S guide: every optimized game, future releases, Game Pass and more!

Yeah. I played it a bit yesterday and was disappointed by the framerate and textures not loading in front of me. Could be a bug though.

I played the Tesla Force demo in the summer when they had all those Indie demos. Was a surprising amount of fun. Wish my backlog didn’t get so much bigger recently otherwise would jump in.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege next-gen version will be available on December 1st!

Get ready to experience the thrill of enjoying the highest level of graphical enhancements that the game has to offer on console. To make sure we cater to all needs, you will be able to choose between different options, whether you wish to prioritize the best framerate, or the highest resolution, granted that you are equipped with a compatible screen device:

  • Performance Mode: Target 120 FPS with 4K Dynamic Resolution Scaling (Xbox Series X) / Target 120 FPS at 1080p (Xbox Series S)
  • Resolution Mode: Target 60 FPS with 4K resolution (Xbox Series X) / Target 60 FPS at 1728p (Xbox Series S)

It is also available on Game Pass!

@staff Hey guys, is it possible to move one or maybe two posts of mine to the #3 and #4 positions of the thread (I have the two first posts)? I’d like to mess around with some more information.

Rogue Squadrons update is live! Another S|X enhanced game.

Hmm, it might be another Warzone scenario. The game doesn’t show an Optimized tag on the Microsoft Store, neither it show as optimized on the games library – only when it is downloaded. I’m downloading it now to check it out!

Edit:: Yeah, as I expected it is still running through backwards compatibility like Rocket League, so it is not “Optimized for the Series X|S” per se.

Metro Exodus is coming to the Series X|S as a free upgrade in 2021!

We’re currently hard at work on bringing Metro Exodus to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 next year. While we can’t share all the details just yet, you should expect major enhancements including faster frame rate, increased resolution, reduced loading times, and stunning Ray Tracing features made possible by the new hardware. The new consoles are amazing, and will allow us to deliver visual enhancements and performance only possible on state of the art PC hardware and RTX enabled cards - until now.

We’re happy to confirm that these enhanced versions will also be made available as a free upgrade to all existing owners. That means if you already own Metro Exodus on Xbox One or PlayStation 4, whether digitally or on disc, you will be able to upgrade to this enhanced version on the next generation on consoles for free.

It still appears as an Xbox One game on my Series X:

The file info says ConsoleType:XboxOne, AppModel:XDK and Gen:Durango. That means it is running through backwards compatibility. It was not optimized per se; the Xbox One version was patched in a way that the Series X could power it up, I believe. Much like Rocket League.

Yup just checked mine after that patch and still the same.

question is it possible for me to use my internal xbox one hard drive and use it as an external drive to store games on my series s? If so how would i do it?

For cold storage, just enable network transfer and use that to migrate files.

No HDR in Call of the Sea is a crime. I wonder if Auto HDR will work with it?

I wonder what happened to Call of the Sea. When it was announced its Xbox page advertised it as checking every column: Ultra HD, HDR, 60 FPS, Ray Tracing and Smart Delivery. Now it only shows Ultra HD, 60 FPS and Smart Delivery :frowning:
