Even mario kart gets snubbed because Geoffâs show dismisses racing game genre for GOTY. Its silly that they do that

It is a fuckinâ amazing game for sure, just because Horizon 5 didnât get nominated for some stupid reason we should not try to shit on great games. In fact 4 out of the 6 nominees that I played are awesome games (I havenât played R&C and Deathloop which I am sure it will be excellent due to Arkaneâs flawless track record).
This is an amazing year overall and there is no clear winner at least IMO, to be honest this list could also have Little Nightmares 2, Forgotten City and Deathâs Door to be a lot more complete. Too many great games this year honestly.

There are definitely guns in Death Stranding, but you are disincentivized to kill people.
Metroid Dread was really good but I donât understand why people are losing their shit over it so hard. I havenât played most of the nominees here, but Psychonauts 2 was fantastic and deserves the win.
I donât buy this ânot story gameâ argument because TGA also nominated Super Smash Bros Ultimate. My main concern about TGA committee is that they donât like games that are excellent on being just games. Their judgment is biased towards a monolith of âwhat an ideal game isâ, and apparently releasing in January doesnât fit this monolith, because Hitman 3 was also ridiculously ignored.

Insomniac should release a racing game. Just to see TGA twist itself in knots, steam come out its ears, and eventually explode, trying to decide whether to nominate it or not.

Tropical Freeze, Wolfenstein: New Order and The Evil Within got robbed that year. I remember DA:I and SoM getting a lot of GOTY awards.

Yeah I remember 2014 being a weak year, hence why Hearthstone was nominated lol.
But it is ridiculous that entire genres are just not considered and this proves it in my opinion.

They totally ignored Nintendo in 2014. Tropical Freeze is one of the best platformers of the generation, Mario Kart 8 is easily the best racing game in which you can throw items ever made and if Celeste deserves a nomination, Shovel Knight also does.
