I usually watch the show for the game trailers, but the prestige of this award is going down by snubbing the highest rated game due to it’s genre. I think Geoff need to come out and say what is criteria to get nominated for GOTY for his award show

There’s a problem in the TGA much like the Oscars. There are genre or subgenres of movies that have been snubbed despite being of extreme high quality, just because they’re not Oscar caliber, which basically means Oscar bait. Comedies and animation come to mind for example.
I find it funny because the TGA think they’re better than the Oscars, but eventually they just do the same thing.

Yes but it was just about the nominees for Game of the year.
FH3 has 3 and Flight Sim and AoE4 both one.

The last IGN Gamescoop had good things to say about FH5, but they still titled their episode Forced to play Forza. Some of the talk on the episode came off that way as well as a ho hum I guess I have to play this despite the praise and it literally being a gamepass download a way.
I haven’t actively kept up with games “journalism” in going on a decade+ now though, and the only real podcast I listen to now that Garnett Lee stopped is Scoop. I miss Garnett and Davison and crew as they were one of the few crews that seemed to like everything from niche weird Japanese games to talking shop about Sports or F1.
