Was that meant to be a 1 out of 10 lol?! Didn’t read like one…
Thinking so!
Yes, I hate it!
Excellent review as always.
I’m going to try to weave this into my gaming schedule somehow…
Xbox Tax has gone too far! This is…
XBOX TARIFF!!
Is “a 2006 game at its core” even a negative thing?
Depends how you see it. If you really want nothing touched up in terms of gameplay, this is the best remaster. Otherwise, it would have been a solid remake.
I’ve only put a few hours in so far but you do start to notice it.
The main thing for me so far has been that the combat, aiming and hitboxes all seem a bit funky (even if they have been improved).
Many of us take for granted how good modern games have got and instead pick on the smallest things like fruit not exploding correctly.
It’s still fantastic though .
It doesn’t play as well as a modern game of this type does, like Avowed.
I prefer 2006 era technology like reactive objects and Radiant AI to the NPCs just standing around like in Avowed.
Not everything has progressed forward since the 360 days.
Avowed is using UE5 and not designed to be a clockwork simulation. There are games that focus on the simulation side and those that don’t. It’s like comparing apples to neutron stars, they’re not the same thing.
I’m still in shock of how masterful the work they have done on the game is. Besides some lighting issues, some frame dips in performance mode and the legacy bugs, it is so good to be back ! I missed Cyrodiil so much !
