The Big ol' Xbox 3rd Party Releases Discussion Thread (HiFi, SoT, Pentiment, Grounded) (Part 1)

Moral of the story - wait for official announcements directly from the source before declaring doom is upon us.

Maybe they should have announced it to save the show.

Just a heads up, “PlayStation”era spreading FUD again by bringing up the “discord” insider with a anime avatar who have “predicted” that Kojima was gonna make a movie. The same guy also said Xbox is going full multiplatform. Yeah, I guess you should believe the guy with an anime avatar( most of them are Sony fanboys), and that he has executive level sources apparently lol.

Also Kojima already anounced he making a movie last December.

Colt also said that Dying Light 2 would be exclusive to Xbox. Why do people keep taking his “leaks” seriously?

This is going around I see as a meme for them. How nice…

Where was the orginal image from? Because they have the Indy stuff correct.

Pretty sure in 2021 he said Halo Infinite was gonna have a beta shadowdrop at the showcase and the game was coming out in September and neither of those happened.

If true, I’m very curious what pr stunt they would put up, they have not even started to deliver the vision they promised during generation launch and 1st move when they seem to get there is putting a high profile XGS game on PS, which concurrently pays for games to skip Xbox (there were a couple just in today SoP). Most hardcore Xbox fans won’t like it for sure. It’s not even for the game itself, but where the line in the sand is drawed: why not HI? Why not FH5? Etc…

No idea, couldn’t find it in Reddit. The Indiana Jones stuff though, Nick got that right way before they said anything. The Troy Baker stuff has been rumored too. The timing of when they post that( I heard it was before the Dev Direct) is kinda sus. Time will tell if they are right, but I doubt they are.

Tbh, I don’t think that there will be any pr stunts. I think that Microsoft will just quietly release the trailer(it won’t be announced in an event) and then release it and don’t talk about it at all.

Bah, I don’t like it in the slightest, it screams bean counters (bad) idea which won’t serve nothing than slightly boost some MS numbers, but at the same time it will be a pr nightmare/disaster for Xbox branding. Every single past present and future game will be port begged, everyone will talk only about that and discourse will be insufferable.

Palworld just demonstrated PS and/or Nintendo are not necessary for smashing success, but there are countless examples.

If Sea of Thieves were to ever be shown during a Sony event, it would be at the PlayStation Showcase, not a State of Play.

There will be some “we want all gamers everywhere to play our games” bs quotes by some of the Xbox executives that will undoubtedly be met with “then why aren’t Starfield, Indiana Jones and Fable etc coming to PS5?”

Honestly looking forward to a whole bunch of new comers to SoT.

Isn’t showcase usually first party and third-party deals?

Yeah, the notion of Xbox exclusive itself, already very elusive, will become incomprehensible even for the best and the brightful minds, I remember years ago after Ori on Switch, anyone portbegged Xbox games until Phil had to shutdown it.

Not always. Alan Wake 2 and MGS Delta were shown during the PlayStation Showcase 2023 and were shown five months later at the Xbox Partner Preview.

Honestly, first party multiplayer games going multiplat don’t bother me. Having more reach is always good for these types of games. First party single player games though? It will be interesting to say the least, that’s all I’m gonna say for now lol.

Xbox “going full-party” is fundamentally flawed, and has been repeatedly shot down time and time again by Phil over the last ten years since the idiotic rumor started. We just saw hardware, while weaker, was up and they just had the biggest quarter they’ve ever had - ditching the ecosystem means an automatic 30% drop in revenue… Satya isn’t signing off on ditching that piece of the pie, can we stop bringing that garbage up every time some loser on Reddit writes some fan fiction?

You all have GOT to reframe your idea of first-party, or you’re going to give yourselves an aneurism; both Sony and Xbox will be continuing to put some of their content on other platforms (again, not debatable, it’s literally documented fact from Sony’s corner), and that doesn’t mean either party is dropping hardware. Games cost a ton of money and the market has to adapt or die, it’s that simple. Why some of you think that means your GP sub and Xbox "entitlement* somehow becomes weaker (despite playing it on better hardware, at no extra cost if a GP sub, and in some cases years before others) just does not compute to me :man_shrugging:
