He also said he wanted Helldivers on Xbox, which is never going to happen unfortunately. He’s talked the talk, now lets see him walk the walk. This could save the brand.

Me as people talk about leaving Xbox:
As for Microsoft future PC ambitions on Xbox, if they can manage to advertise it properly a portable Xbox/PC would be a pretty good combo for the future. As it has the potential to be the PC parents without a large amount of disposable income get their kids.
If it could also allow for access to androids mobile store, it could become an all in one portable that could do tablet numbers.

However, I do think he will get all the support for this. It certainly would be a big win and one that ends the multiplatform debate. As a consumer having all this stores on the console is a good thing. It will give Steam the competition it needs and help Epic a whole lot. All those free games on the Epic store will fair much better on consoles and their 6months exclusive program giving all revenue to developers will do wonders. I would imagine Epic would be pushing and calling Xbox daily to get this done pronto.

I just want to add some more context & perspective here, i.e. I have a box next to my tv right now (a Series X) which does the same or thereabouts as the PS5, with similar performance as well. But then there’s Gamepass & the rewards program as well.
Small anecdote: I signed up the PlayStation Stars via the mobile app & got my first reward… aka a 3D render of a PS4 (wtf?). Point being: I find it very difficult to get agitated or even concerned about Xbox at a time when I’m having a great time with their current high end console & their rewards points program (despite all the hoopla & usual complaints) is almost subsidizing my gamepass sub on a monthly basis.
I mean compared to the other manufacturers… I’m getting a great deal with Xbox.
If this is the ‘future’ of the brand, I’m totally cool with the direction. Let PlayStation owners pay for Xbox stuff. It makes no difference to me.

Dont you think, with this, Xbox would be saying I dont care if you buy a game on our store (money for Xbox) or others (0 money for Xbox)? What happens with charging for online gaming?
its competition chances are most will still use the Xbox store as it is where one will be most confident in, also if you already have a library on Xbox, you’d probably stay there finally Game pass would be a plus.
I’d probably only use the other stores like Steam for exclusives, early access and free games (Epic Games).

Plus you are still most likely buying accessories which is very profitable for MS. People would most likely just see those stores as a way of making sure they get those extra games they don’t normally get on Xbox.
The reality is if regulators come and force that change, MS will be ready for it. Also, making sure everything can run on Xbox this way might simplify development for Xbox if that’s 1 less version to make.

Agreed this could also be a way of having a unified format as I think Phil mentioned something about it. certainly, a real disruptor and one that totally deviates from the PlayStation.

Unified format: next MS will make all Xbox accessories work on PlayStation and Switch lol. Full on 3rd party. Bringing Kinect to PS5 users!

Yeah, I agree. Please, Xbox no more XBox 360 Arcade or Series S SDK units. Just have one super console powerful system. It was clear in the 360 era and also in this era that even most Xbox fans wanted the premier consoles and those cheaper units did little to make Playsation fans switch consoles
It’s better for Xbox fans and Xbox developers and will be a great way to offer something better than what SONY can offer, with just one super powerful console for those XBox fans who don’t want to go to SONY and can’t get into PC gaming.

Is it true that Brexit really damage economy over there? I’ll be honest, I don’t have much knowledge on it except that people reacted very negatively, which is crazy when I first saw the report, the thumbnail had old man all happy like this is the best thing that could happen.
