I can see why insiders and Klob went quiet and not go to dark side (Tim) once Phil stepped in. They’re probably told that everything remains the same. It’s about the message delivering here.
The ABK Gamepass stuff is still weird AF to me.
While I understand maybe you don’t want to fully dump every CoD game at once they have a decent already backwards compatible list of games.
I don’t get the slow play here especially if you bill Gamepass as the place to play MS’ 1st party library which is what ABK is now. There is a large chunk of games that are already BC. Why the wait just to put something like Diablo III or Tony Hawk on the service?

I believe it’s the case of making them Play Anywhere. When Bethesda dropped all of their old games, not one of them were and that’s a pain (in my opinion). It’s likely they’re working to be more friendly.

We have so many games on GP and releasing every games at ones when we didn’t even have a drought is not necessary.
Also every CoD is a GaaS so dropping them one by one is probably the better idea.
The day Xbox community stops panicking, Playstation will release First party titles on Xbox.

Perfect response and great confident answers from all 3. I’d rather they name the 4 games to stop the rumour mill. Sorry for doubting Phil and the team and how the hell did they gain 9 million Gamepass users. Xbox on fire.
I still think it’s them trying to figure out how to deal with Battle.net. I’m curious to see how Diablo 4 on PC will work in that regard.

Yea I have gone dark on social media and forums the last week cause people were flipping their shit for nothing based on false rumors. It was great to just ignore this bullshit and play games and have a normal week.
In the end I just want to play games on an Xbox console in my living room and that will not change so I dont give a damn what else they do to keep the platform growing.
I hope the gaming community learns from all the crap going on the last week or so.

Good luck to you if you think that’s where it ends. Also every game announced will now be drowned out by ‘so when will it come to PS/Switch’ questions and not ‘wow that looks great’. These 4 games are test cases, if it makes them more money more will come. If it doesn’t more might not but the damage is already done.
The podcast felt almost desperate to me, cringe worthy damage control . The platform is growing but not fast enough so we made this decision. This is why you should still buy an Xbox blah blah. These 3 people clearly did not make these decisions, the finance guys did as a quick cash grab…but they don’t realise the damage it will do to the Xbox brand.
There’s no chance I’ll buy the next Xbox knowing that the games will come to PS…unless PS games (and Square Enix games) will be on Xbox, which we all know will not happen.

Like I get it if they don’t want to drop every game all at once. But they went the other way and haven’t dropped a single game. Like maybe just say yo we will drop 2 ABK games a month or something til we release it all.
Probably learned from the Bethesda method of dumping it all at once.
Drip feed makes sense with a subscription service. The older COD titles are still very popular.

LOL@ all those Sony clowns on Twitter last week with pictures of “Sony lineup 2024 looking amazing.” showing games such as Halo, Gears, Starfield, IJ and asking which game you looked forward to. All of a sudden Xbox games were great again.
But I guess they suck again now.

I’m out on “insiders” completely going forward. Completely irresponsible use of their platforms over the last two weeks.
