One thing though, who is gonna port HFR over and if Jez is right many more older games? I’m fine with games going to Switch, as long as it doesn’t take away from actual development of upcoming Xbox games. Game development especially nowadays takes a long time, the wait for these already announced games is long enough as it is. Pete Hines for example said if Starfield development for PS5 had been continued the wait would have been longer, so yeah, I hope none of the XGS devs are on it. I don’t think that’s an unreasonable thing to want either.
Not to mention the possibility of PS5 too, who knows.
Some super fans might be quite extreme but Klobrille is certainly not, he seems quite the voice of reason among the community and he has never reacted in an extreme manner, at least not from what I have seen.
Putting games out day one on PC does have a negative effect on console, doesn’t mean it’s bad for their business but yes it eats up potential console sales
Sea of Thieves has become great game for those that play but it certainly didn’t start that way. My problem with many of Xbox games is how they launch in an incomplete, unpolished manner. Not to say again it’s not a success but has so with various updates.
Halo Infinite might be a good game now but again its launch didn’t go over very well. Plus I don’t think it’s quite the system seller that Xbox had anticipated. Same applies to Starfield.

I’ve seen maybe one legitimate “meltdown” over this. Being overdramatic is one thing but belittling everyone that dares question this move ( again, if true) is just as obnoxious IMO.
Yes absolutely. I am glad to be here, honestly I have loved Xbox since the original one in 2001. I am not a big fps fan but what drew me to it were games like Dead or Alive 3, Ninja Gaiden, Otogi, Sega games, Rare, etc. I love how diverse it was and I am starting to see that glimmer again. I really want them to do well.
Yeah, it’s not gonna be pretty. And honestly, I would get the frustration. There are valid reasons why Xbox should not ship any big or small games(old and new) to PS5, it would be very, very odd. Jez said that good sources told him Xbox is exploring the ideas to ship older games to other platforms. So not just one. But I guess I get it, what else can they say? One other platform?
Crapgamer? I don’t get at all how he can still be relevant and has subscribers. For years on end he was pro PS, talking shit about anything Xbox, and the other day I actually saw that he’s back “on board” with Xbox. I can’t with these jokers.

Maybe that was something beyond their control i.e. Disney/Bethesda or whatever, that’s another discussion but I don’t recall him ever saying anything about it being multiplat

And he ends it with that nothing is even confirmed, which is true. But I can see HFR being true, which is alright. As for even more older games…I think we might even be waiting longer to find out.
I kinda want a Nintendo Direct to happen, one because of new hardware, it’s about damn time for a reveal, end these damn rumors about Switch 2, two, HFR rumor true or BS after all. I don’t see HFR being announced for Switch(2) at a Xbox stream, lol.
I’m all for this that there should be a law to transfer game purchases across platforms because that is very consumer friendly. This should be something that should be applied for all digital licenses everywhere. I don’t think it will happen, but I feel this is something regulators should go hard on rather than acquisitions.
It’s embarrassing! I love that Xbox fans are passionate but I wish folks including klob and Jez take one moment to think and not react.
It’s ok to be annoyed about a rumor but to go on a three day meltdown on something that we don’t even know to be true is sad. It just looks like to me as being worked up just to be mad. Right now HFR or whatever game isn’t on rival platforms. There absolutely no nuance anymore. It’s the one thing that drives me crazy about Xbox. The fans are the first to be “the sky is falling!” when it’s not.
I’ll add to this that I love this brand. I’ve been on Xbox since I got one for my 21st birthday many many moons ago(my best friend at the time bought it for me and we not even cool no more but that’s a story for another time). I don’t want it to go away ether and I understand that fear, but worry not. Xbox is WAY better than it was during the dark period. Shoot it’s better than it was just a few months ago when the CMA blocked the deal and Redfall got panned. So don’t let these little things trip you up, because right now that’s all this is.
That would be pushing towards a universal format like in other entertainment, a good thing but I don’t see it happening anytime soon. They might as well just open the wall gardens of console forcing them to allow other competing stores like Steam.
